Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's**New Maps at start of thread**

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hi Stu,

I would think its more likely to be the Nichimo 1/35 Elefant as this is what's used on the top of the upper jaw section just forward of the gun turret.

I'm trying to hunt one of these down so will post scans when/if I find one.

Cheers
Nick

BP, you're an ID'ing machine mate, keep it coming!.

MF015 ?C sure looks like a Sherman part, 1/35th Tamiya may be too small, how about 1/16th?.

With the talk regarding the Italeri/Tamiya partnership, would by any chance the grill part on the upper quad laser gun turret base be from the Italeri 1/35th 'Elefant'?. I have this part & it sure seems to match, can anyone confirm this?.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

I've seen alot of Kubels with the bonnet wheel mount having a hole in the centre as opposed to the little 'nipple' as shown on the ILM model. This tooling looked pretty good. It also matches the same appearance of the Bandai Kubel bonnet which is placed just next to it.
With the help of BP's scan (domo!), if you compare the parts really closely, you'll see that there are additional details (notably along the edges), which favor the Tamiya version as the correct source.

I agree. The place where you want to say is here.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hello to everyone. I must say that the work you are doing here it's just impressive, most impressive. And I'd love to contribute with a little help, as someone said,"little help is better than no help at all":lol.
So here it goes, some small parts of the Airfix P-51D or K Mustang. Both kits are the same, only the K version has extra blades for the propeller and Korean War decals.
Hope it helps.

Thanks Nick, yeah would in all probability then be from the Nichimo, be great if you can get one & post scans to compare the 2.

Hi Guys !

I think that the part of Nichimo's is used for MF.(But I don't have it!:cry)

additional: The body of a small tank is Fujimi's 1/76 Valentine.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

LOL! Go ahead...knock yourself out! This should be done by tomorrow at this pace.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

LOL - Black Pig's too much into the groove. Nobody's complaining Black Pig, we're taking it all in stride. Seriously - don't stop! :) Your ID'ing prowess is just amazing.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hey BP, you are really rocking through these. Thanks so much for your dedication and sharp eyes!

While I do some work on the maintenance pits here's one I've started, but have left for the moment. I've included a cutaway top view to help. I haven't bothered putting all unknowns in yellow. The way you're going, this shouldn't take you more than half an hour to complete! :)

For about #2.
I compared Tamiya's and Nichimo's respectively with the image. However, neither agreed, too.
Then, I compared 1/76 Fujimi kit. It was different from the one which I looked for though this was near.
Is it Airfix or, Hasegawa to remain ? :confused

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

It suddenly hit on while I soaked to the bathtub.
There is a Bandai remaining !

It is match perfectly. So, today's my work is end...:)

Have a nice day !:thumbsup

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hey BP, top job. I bow down before your Piggy mightyness :)

PS That Fujimi Valentine score on the gun turret was useful. I knew it was a Valentine but hadn't sussed the right scale.
Boy I've got ALOT of updates to do!

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

I've now started collecting parts to build a 5' Falcon, thanks a lot guys. :angry:lol
Some incredible work on the I.D.'s. I wish I had more to offer but I plan on seeing the Falcon this weekend, if anyone needs shots of anything in particular, let me know and I'll do my best to get some clear shots.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hi there,

Thanks for looking in SWgeek. Glad we are able to help. That's what this is all about.

If you are able to take some more MF pics that would be great. What we really need more of are close, sharp pictures of the various maintenance pits both topside and underside, but especially underside. In an exhibition environment with lots of people around its never easy to get good pics but if you can give it a go we would be very grateful.

Cheers
Nick
