Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's**New Maps at start of thread**

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Dr Tak say : "In MF009, No. 1 is actually the hull of a Bandai 1/48 Jagdpanther, not Tamiya 1/35."

I think too, I've Jagdpanther 1/35 Tamiya and it's too big !:confused

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Ok, thanks for the note on that. I'll amend the map.

Nice finds BP, please give me your secret lol

I can't tell anybody my secrets ! :lol

When I was looking at parts of various models for a long time, it has come to suddenly. :p

One more ! :thumbsup

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hey BP, you are on fire with these. Great job. These amendments are really racking up fast.

Here's a challenge. Looking at that same map, do you have any hunches about the round part that butts right up to the end of the Honda F1 engine piece? - originally I thought they were the same part, but clearly not. There is another F1 part perched on top?

Cheers
Nick

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

In MF004, No. 2 is referenced as Italeri 1/35 Kubelwagen. What is the basis for this ID? The corresponding part in the Tamiya 1/35 Kubelwagen looks identical to No. 2, which is more evident in other views.

That's disgusting how easy it is to find parts for you ! :cry

Non mais, qui parle! (Look who's talkin' !):lol

I know that some of the Italeri stuff was released under Tamiya's name for the Japanese market and that some of the Tamiya models was released under the Italeri brand for the European market, i'm not sure for that kit though ! But I'm sure BP knows more about that ! :)

Tu es français ? :D
Without BP I wouldnt have been so far into my ISD build !! He's awesome !! :)

That did not happen until 1984, and IIRC, the box clearly had both manufacturers' logos. What I was referring to was of course the vintage issue of the Tamiya Kubelwagen (35006).

Non, mais j'ai passé 25 ans dans l'hexagone! (No, I'm not French but spent 25 yrs in France):eek

Agreed! I believe he's very active in a Japanese SS discussion group as well.

OK I didnt know that ! Probably a mistake then...

I couldn't find the part in the Honda F1. And, I looked for it in a big-scale kit of the tank because I had thought that this had a little complex shape for the wheel of F1. It seemed was. I'm not sure. What do you think ,Nick ? :confused
(See pics.)

Julien , You helped a lot for me!! Want to find parts of ISD in reality.:(

Dr Tak ! You can speak French !:eek I learnt it at college. But I couldn't.:cry

BP, you're an ID'ing machine mate, keep it coming!.

MF015 ?C sure looks like a Sherman part, 1/35th Tamiya may be too small, how about 1/16th?.

With the talk regarding the Italeri/Tamiya partnership, would by any chance the grill part on the upper quad laser gun turret base be from the Italeri 1/35th 'Elefant'?. I have this part & it sure seems to match, can anyone confirm this?.

Hey Stu ! Yes, I am ID'ing machine. "I'll be back !":love
I scanned the part of MF015?c for matching. It's good for me.:rolleyes

I can't confirm the Elefant part. Because I don't have good pic about there.
But I agree with you ! Is the Italeri's Elefant kit #211 ?

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hi guys,

I hope you dont mind the odd lurker, as I have been following the thread, but unfortunately, have nothing to offer.

I will not be in a possition to build an SS ANH falcon, nor even purchase any kits, but the pics of the actual part ID's are for me extreemly helpfull in my preperation to scratch as many parts I can for a new AMT/ERLT Falcon rebuild.

So just wanted to say thanks! and great work.

Hopfully, At some stage I can contribute in some small way.

Ozzy

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

You took the words from my mouth, Ozzy. Wanted to say thanks, too - you guys are amazing. This thread has been most useful for me to plan the next steps for my unfinished conversion, which has remained in the sidelines for the longest time.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hi Dr Tak,

I put it down as an Italeri Kubelwagen simply as it looked a good match.

Kubel_bonnet_s.jpg

I've seen alot of Kubels with the bonnet wheel mount having a hole in the centre as opposed to the little 'nipple' as shown on the ILM model. This tooling looked pretty good. It also matches the same appearance of the Bandai Kubel bonnet which is placed just next to it.

However, you are way better informed than me on all this stuff so I'm happy to be corrected.

Cheers
N

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hey BP, great work on the underside, and the other parts you've mentioned. How many kits do you have at home?? - seems like you have a warehouse of kits you can dip into! :)

He's my take on the Centurion issue

Cheers

Yes, many....It's lie! :lol
But, I can't count those now. Moreover, it might be forgotten that I have the same one and buy it again.:wacko Are you also the same?:love

I am glad to help you about centurion.:)

I scanned Tamiya's Kubelwagen. Is it also fun to compare made of Tamiya and made of Italeri ? :confused
