Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's**New Maps at start of thread**

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Thanks guys. I always love the flurry of updates from you 'Hawkeyes' once I post stuff up! -

I'll capture the comments you've made and then carry on a bit with the maintenance pits. Not sure how much I'll be able to spot as ref pics are poor for these.

Cheers

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Great teamwork.

In MF007, 5 is actually from the Airfix 1/24 ME109E, as shown in this pic, next to the 9 inch mark. It has a rectangular hole in the middle, through which the oil pan (or whatever it is) of th 8rad pokes out. This piece shows up on the outer sides of the mandibles as well.

Also, it looks like this revision was left out:

We can used Honda 750CB four... I think.

Always on MF 002 :

Messerschmitt 1/24 bandai

In addition:

1 : two parts BMW R75 1/9 ESCI
2: messerscmitt 1/24 Bandai...

:)

But No. 2 are from the Airfix BF109E (lower left corner).

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Please change a mark here.;)

[Edit] And MF012 #1 is not Ferrari 312T. It's from 312B !:love

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

If you need it there is an Aurora 1/48 M8 Carrier and 8" Howitzer on the Old Plastic Model Kits website. Will set you back $375 USD though.

Just checked again. There is two of them.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

What parts does the Aurora 8" Howitzer offer?. That's a new one one my radar...

I saw there is one for 175.00 and 375.00. Very old kit.

Regarding the Saratoga part ID'ed by Monsieur Tox (see MF007):

However, I believe that part was part of the restoration.
Here is a pic taken from ILM:

I think the part used was originally from the Bandai 1/24 Panther G. Both prongs use engine block detail from the Panther ( which also appears in the 1/24 King Tiger) the part on the left here is used on the Starboard side and I'd lay good money the companion piece was used on the port side. What do you think?

I've already checked. The port side mandible does not match.

The part in question from the vintage issue of the Panther kit, with two holes on that rectangular box portion instead of one, is a match (see attached pics).

What a hell !!:eek
I didn't know that there was a difference in part between the 1st issue and 2nd issue. We should make an economic consultation with a our purse again.:wacko

Good job, Dr Tak !

I found the another yellow marking parts.:)

Good job, Dr Tak !
Domo, domo, Kuro Buta-san (or should that be Koku Buta, or Koku Ton, or Kuro Ton????)
But I am no match to you or anyone who have been ID'ing parts for over three decades and, more importantly, building the awesomeness that everyone in this YOOOOUNIVEEERSE (Walter Bishop's accent) have been making so diligently and skillfully (not just yet:cool).

That said, I do have my own cards, which I am willing to show in due time.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Welcome to the party Dr Tak! -thanks for your help. This kind of endeavour lives or dies on the shared help we can muster. So far we've made quite a dent in the 'Big Burger' :)

I got my Nichimo 1/35 henschel turret KT and sure enough as BP noted the parts match. It even has the fine grill part that's been drilled through on the ILM model. Hurrah. Thanks for your additional updates BP. Even more M23 parts! No one should even think about starting a big MF without this kit.

This one is niggling now - Can any of you confirm that damn disk part in MF009. Is it a 1/9 Kubelwagen disk brake? - I'd like to be able to 'Final' that map if I can.

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick !

At last, we got it !! :cheers
I did not think about it from 1/9 Kubelwagen. Because, it is too small for 1/9 auto brake disk. And For me, it seemed to consist of two parts.
So, I was looking for old kits of 1/35 Tank Gun's brake or 1/24 airplane brake. .... and found ! :p

Here you are !!
Hope your helps.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hey Blackpig, what can I say. Outstanding job. :) You've sure got a great 'eye' there my friend. I can sleep easier tonight knowing that dang part is finally revealed. Hurrah! - and its a kit I picked up on spec really cheap the other week. I love it when a plan comes together....

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Does anyone know if the re release of the M23 Mcclaren is the same as the vintage kit, part wise ? Anyone, Bueller, Bueller, :)

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

In MF009, No. 1 is actually the hull of a Bandai 1/48 Jagdpanther, not Tamiya 1/35.
