Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Well spotted! - I've noted that these parts get used just below this section, but I'd missed them here. Another revision to do!

Thanks

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Yes been having a look on the 'net and the brake caliper assembly which donates the parts in the middle looks the same on both variants of the bike. Haven't seen the two rounded parts which sit outside them, under the Bandai Messer parts you've just spotted. - Or I have I misunderstood and its only these two parts in the middle which are from the 1/6 Honda?

Hi leukirix !

You are right.:) We can use Tamiya 1/6 Honda 750CB four.
And Police type.

[edit] However, there are the same two parts because this racer's front disk brakes are on right and left both sides.
The market type and the police type are each one.
Which moto do you choose ? :love

But we can't use Tamiya 1/6 Honda 750CB-F.(Not CB four) :confused

That part(our needs) is front brake caliper part. This is single piston caliper.
But 750CB-F has twin pistons caliper.

[edit] (750CB-F was put on the market in 1979.)

So, We should take care about this. :lol

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hello,

This is my first post here, and it is a question. I hope it is pertinent to the thread.

I have been studying the 5' MF with the goal of replicating it and have noticed that what appear to be bas-reliefs have been cast and repeated on the MF, and some of them used on the Y-wings (as pointed out by others). The attached picture illustrates what I am trying to describe. The green arrows indicate the location of the parts pictured in the larger photos (credits go to the people who snapped them) and the red arrows indicate the repeating nature of the parts in those pictures. Note for instance that the 8Rad/Ketten combo is present on both the "ceiling" and the "floor" of the "cargo bay (what do you call it?)" between the mandibles, and the King Tiger turret detail with all the additional decorations nearby is repeated and so is the Matilda-derived panel.

Upon close inspection, these sections appear to be part of a larger bas-relief from which specific ones were cut-out.

My question (finally!) is: does anyone know where else these are used and what the primary purpose was (e.g. tiles for the Death Star)?

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Hi,

One question :

Part 1, we know that it's 1/9 kettenkrad, but the 2 ??? It's a kit part's or scratch plasticard ??:wacko

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Tell me about it. I'm sure a couple of guys around here know, but it seems to be one of those Holy Grail type mysteries. I think its a kit part due to the two little bumps on the top leading side.

Its such a curious and fiddly little part to have made. Generally they tended to just apply the kit parts from the box with maybe a bit of cutting, but when you look at the original Kettengrad part and then how it ended up its quite a tricky little bit of work. I guess they really wanted it to match the concept design feature and made the extra effort. Lord knows what the second donor part is. Maybe we'll come across it one day....:)

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Heer are a few updates and a couple of new ones. I'm going to take a pass at the maintenance pits next, but I'm not getting alot of time at the moment. I'll do what I can before we move house etc.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

MF004 1.1 - The part under the Esci BMW R75 (#6) both sides is from the Tamiya 1/12th M23.
Awesome parts maps updates, the ID's are just rolling in, many thanks to all.

BTW, I picked up more of the 1/12th M23 sprues off the bay this week, this time the engine sprues & the guy still has some of the other sprues left & added the body parts as well.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Does anyone no if the re release of the M23 Mcclaren is the same as the vintage kit, part wise ? Also is the Minicraft 1/5 Mazda rotary engine the same tooling as the Entex version, Thanks,

Joe
