Just checking in to say a big thank you to those who signed up today!

I've been AFK all day today for my daughters birthday, but I've just been on to get myself up to date with orders before bed.

All up to date now!

I'm hoping to get another update posted on the R&D thread VERY soon! I'll be focussing on getting my stencils finished up tomorrow, which is my next priority! It'll take me a wile to get the artwork done to show them off on the models too, so I'm going to say the beginning of next week for that.

I'll catch any new sign-ups first thing in the morning.

I've just updated the list.

So, the run is 100% definitely going ahead. We've reached the target (in three days!!). So you can absolutely count on the run going ahead on October 1st at the quoted prices.

I had no idea the list would fill up quite so fast! Which is why I decided on the beginning of October to go ahead with the run. I figured it would take a few weeks to get the numbers, and that people might appreciate the additional payday at the end of September.

For that reason, I can't really move the date forward. That's ok though. I still have a couple of things to polish up. I'm VERY nearly finished with the stencils! My OCD is dragging the process out, but they're looking good.

I've invested in my own vinyl cutter this time around, which arrived today! Looking forward to figuring out how it works! I've been printing out on paper to test them out, but I'll get them textured on to the 3D models soon (when I'm finally happy with them).

After this, I'll be doing one more accuracy pass on the models before drawing up the final CAD drawings.

I'll document all this in a more detailed post once I've reached a milestone. I'm still kind of in the middle of a few things right now.

More related to the actual run:

I'm happy to confirm that the clamp for the run will be Roman's satin clamp, and that he's very kindly offered a discount for the run, so I've adjusted the pricing accordingly Thanks Roman!

I'm going to start taking payments/confirming orders from the middle of September in order to spread out the load of keeping track of everything. The cut-off date will then be two weeks later, on October 1st. Hope that sounds ok for everyone.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

I'm going to sign off for now, but I'll keep an eye out for any new sign-ups and keep the list up to date.

Your order would be in the second batch if you're ok with the wait? I'm hoping to get through the first batch through November (depending on the parts arriving in time), and then have the second batch finished in time for Christmas.

Thanks Andrew! Much appreciated! I've updated the list and my spreadsheet. These orders don't have to be set in stone at this stage. They just give me an idea of quantities I'll need of each individual part when the run goes ahead.

Hi Zach

I'll definitely be giving a full explanation of Motor/Battery as well as the blade very soon. All of this is figured out and parts sourced/costed. I just haven't made the artwork yet to show how it all goes together.

As soon as I've finished working on the Stencils (Very nearly there) I'll be posting an explanation of the motorised stunt parts.

I can tell you that the ANH kit will come with the ROTJ internal rod (for displaying without the blade). This will need to be swapped out for the blade, which has a different internal rod/tang).

The hilt has been designed to take vintage motor/gearbox/switch. It's not feasible to source these and offer them on a run of this size though, so modern alternatives have been sourced that have the correct RPM.

The coupling will be a flexible shaft coupling. I imagine the original would have been rigid, but Poikilotherm pointed out that the flexible ones reduce the vibrations in the mechanism.

The battery pack will be an enclosed 8XAA (12V) pack with belt clip.

I'll cover all this (with pictures) very soon; certainly before confirming orders. This will be over on the Research and Development Thread



**IMPORTANT UPDATE**

The second batch of ROTJ Commissions is now full. It's my hope/plan to get both the first and second batch completed before Christmas.

I'm happy to take on more, but this would have to be on the understanding that the third batch would be worked on through January next year.

The ANH Commissions (Which are more straight forward and will be worked on along side the ROTJ commissions) are still on the first batch at the moment.
