Well, based on the fact that we never discussed dimensions, whatever mods you made (thank heavens!) did the trick! Who knows, maybe there was a little divine intervention.

Gorgeous work. Since you must have recently been going through a lot of references of the prop lately. I wonder if you might give your take on the difference you noticed between the difference versions of the prop. I know the wired one looks to have been made from a Marushin. The poster blaster looks like an HFC, and the gun Han has holstered in the castle destruction scene was a KWC. I know there was some differences on the various screws used from one prop to another. Do you think the add on parts were all produced the same?

Thank you Anakin Starkiller ! My focus on this build specifically was more around remodeling the airsoft itself as I honestly finished the kit years ago. For the Mauser I did chose to use the HFC m712 as it looks like that’s the base Mauser used mostly throughout TFA. It was also used for a lot of the promotional pics as you mentioned as well. It was also the version of the blaster that Lord and Miller tweeted out before they started filming Solo.

For the kits themselves and if they are truly different it’s really kind of hard to say from what I’ve gathered. There isn’t really any good pics to truly compare them to each other to say for certain. It’s also tough to even realize what version of the prop you are looking at in some pics as well. But it certainly looks like the kits themselves are pretty consistent to each other over all.

It’s a different story when talking about the replica props that turned up at the Disney parks back in the day. The bull barrel, mystery disk replacement and even certain details on the scopes themselves are not like the filming props. Those ones were lazily built compared to the actual props it seems like which shouldn’t be to surprising.

Here is an HFC m712 TFA build that has sat unfinished on my shelf with MJF parts since ‘20 I believe. So this kit will only be modified for FDM printing but the design itself will remain pretty much untouched. Just never found the time to finish it but this is the goal as a whole for my new FDM fully printed version if all goes well..

Your proportions look really good! I always thought the DEC kit looked a bit off, bc the overall proportions were based too closely on the ANH blaster. When I designed the parts for FM, I tried to get the TFA look a bit closer. It would be interesting to compare what we came up with
