Attention: BANDAI will stop selling kits outside Japan

Fine Molds will be supplying Revell USA with these kits, too. So it is likely a re-release under their own lable for the Japanese market.

I doubt that, as FM no longer has a license to sell Star Wars kits in Japan.

Yeah, FM let their license go at the time of the Disney take over. They still own their molds and are popping them out for Revell to re-box under their own label here in the US. FM themselves can no longer sell SW kits under their own name anywhere.

Seems like FM has a smart plan. Make Revell pay for the enormous SW license and then pay to rebox a kit on molds that FM has paid off.

We lose, but it's great for FM and Resell. ;-)

And the lazy way out for Revell not having to design a "detailed" model on their own, which they seem to be incapable of as late.

According to what we've been told, they can't and shouldn't be but the opposite is what we're seeing here, they're also for sale in the Japanese store. You'll have to scour Japanese internet in the next few days to prove whether they're reissues or old stocks.

It's not really uncommon to see products of the same IP being produced and sold by different companies even if it's assumed that one of the companies has lost the license already. Apparently, they may not be able (or willing) to produce brand-new products but they can reissue them just fine.

I believe Revell didn't design their new-tool TFA kits, they outsourced the sculpt to the studio "Daab Creative", it's no surprise as a lot of model kit companies outsource their product design to subcontractors too.

...and "Order Stop" means they are back ordered.
More accurately, on Hobby Link Japan's website "Order Stop" means they are expecting to receive a specific number of kits when that particular model is released, and they have already received enough pre-orders to sell that number of kits. Once they receive the kits and fill those pre-orders, if they have any left they remove the "Order Stop" and sell what they have on hand.

As I understand it, Fine Molds' Star Wars licensing doesn't expire until the end of the year and they are allowed to sell their remaining stock until that time. But I could be wrong and their licensing expired at the end of 2014; I'm really not sure.

Fine Molds had an American distributor for their SW kits, unlike Bandai. The exclusive Disney license Revell acquired would have cut off Fine Molds' exports earlier than the domestic Japanese stock was depleted from HLJ.

I have a small care package coming from a friend in Japan! Giggity Gig!!!

Regarding the discontinuation of the R2/R5 kit, that makes a little sense in that R2-D2 is included in the upcoming BB-8 kit.

Regarding the discontinuation of the 1/48 Electronic X-wing, I'm hoping that will lead to a NON electronic version being issued. I wasn't really interested in the electronics (I'd rather light it myself and the wing action looked pretty wonky to me) and I certainly won't be able to afford the Electronic version at Post Order 66 black market price.

Where did this talk of discontinuing the 1/48 Moving Edition X-wing come from? It is still on their site:

Not saying it's wrong, just curious as to where this info/rumor came from?

I would love a standard edition 1/48! I bought the 1/72 in a 'panic' buy from HLJ and boy it that thing tiny! I know it is the right size for 1/72 but darn is it tiny. Did I mention it is tiny?
