Attention: BANDAI will stop selling kits outside Japan

Just chalk-talking here but may be for security reasons the mouse is giving Revell ILM assets on VHS and requiring Revell to view them on a 1990's projection screen TV.

We just don't know. We just don't know.

It's also feasible that the R2 greebles on their MF are just "tells". Think about it.

On September 2nd I ordered three different Bandai star wars kits on Amazon. Just to check if prices have changed I went back on Amazon and clicked on buy again and the price for two of the kits I have ordered has gone up for instance the AT-ST I paid 18.20 with free shipping. Now to buy the same listing again its at 24.21. It is clear that the cost will start to rise on these kits. I received two of the kits that I have ordered on Sept 2nd today if anyone is concerned about receiving orders that have already been made. I think that we will still be able to get the kits and hope that costs stay relatively the same. I will also write to Disney and as far as Revell it's a shame that they can't come up with competitive kit being that big of a company.
I bought my son a Anikin's Jedi Starfighter Revell snap kit and he decided that he is not into modeling at age 9 so in between builds have been doing a repaint on this kit and the fit and everything is far from what you would expect or maybe you would expect this from Revell. Its funny I see that kit listed on Amazon now for 48.95 (only one left ) hurry buy this crap..

Dear Mr. Holm,

I am a Star Wars fan since I was a child and always loved building model kits of the spaceships from these movies.

Some time ago the whole sci-fi modeling community was delighted that we finally got a plastic kit producer who started selling accurate kits of the Star Wars spaceships and characters: Bandai.

The more we got happy after each new release, the more we are now frustrated that the export of these kits to the EU and USA was now prohibited.
All we are left with are the old AMT kits from decade-old tooling, and the newer Revell kits with a production and accuracy standard even below these.

We don't know the details why this ban was set up, but we know that we hate to be frustrated about our favorite movies and the merchandise for us fans.
The Bandai kits are the first modeling products for Star Wars fans which do justice to the prototypes from the fantastic movies.

I hope that the responsible persons will lift the ban of Bandai kits from outside Japan and make us fans happy again.

Best regards,
Thorsten

I have emailed Mr Holm aswell. hoping the there is a flood of emails coming his way to at least get his attention on the issues raised. I would think it wouldnt be long for a statement to be released by disney, lucusfilm or maybe bandai. we can only hope.

One other thing I'd like to point out is that these bandai kits are ALSO for beginners. They go together like butter. Like a puzzle. You don't even need glue if you don't want it.

Compare putting together a bandai model together with an old AMT model. Even thought it has more parts, the bandai is WAY easier

Yep. Bandai has proven you can make a model kid friendly in assembly, like legos almost, but still look damn accurate for us older folk who appreciate scaled reproductions of studio models.

I know a couple of people have mentioned Amazon as an alternative source.
The prices seen just a bit dearer than HLJ but not to bad considering how expensive the Revell kits are..... but I'm wondering, well if disney have stopped HLJ from exporting won't they stop Amazon too?
Surely Amazon is an easier, bigger target?

There are some rumors know that Hasbro may have been the one to complain since Bandai was doing figure kits. I'm not sure I believe that since other companies have done similar, like LEGO.
