Anakin Starkiller V2 + V3 Builders kit Tutorial

Some tests tonight

now this is really cool. that motor is pretty strong - does it "grip" the bottom of the blade when you slide it in, or is there a D shaped shaft?

I see the black flicker that you see on screen, especially when you tilt the blade

Wow! That's incredible!

Can't wait to see the finished result! :D

Will there be a method of retaining the blade? As it seems, the blade seems to be floating freely within the emitter and would slip out if swung.

Sorry guys, I’ve been swamped at work... hopefully this weekend I am fool around some more

So the long drive shaft coming out of the emitter, I milled a channel in. In the adapter I machined inside the golf club, I drilled and tapped a 3mm set screw, so the blade can only go on 1 way, and gets locked into the shaft

I tighten it, then put the black tape over the 3mm screw hole, so you don’t see it

Sorry for the late replies I’ll be back by this weekend hopefully

:)

Can’t wait to see the finished motor blade saber, I love the old technique they used.
Plus, on a related note, my v2 is complete except for the mystery chunk.

Wicked!!! It looks great!!

I’m swamped right now with my real job.. gotta finish this bathroom remodel before the home owners get back from their cruise..

Only 1 bathroom in the house

I am praying I’ll be free this weekend to play around, weather has me locked so I can paint so I’m playing on other stuff

I bought 4 clubs at once, going to make a few more blades

Are you getting woods, or irons, or does it matter? Just whatever's longest and cheapest?

Hahaha I remember these popping up when I'd do eBay searches for funny spellings to find cheaper flashes!

That trick doesn't really work much, anymore. :(

The job I’m doing right now.the owner is a huge golf guy. I brought my clubs and he said they are graphite.

Ok so I have gotten a TON of questions about clubs. If I haven’t returned you PM yet. I am not ignoring you

I am just really busy with my day job, getting home around 9-10pm and going right to bed. I will be back to my normal schedule by the end of next week, and I can’t freak’n wait... tired of always rushing

Anyway, I went to my club collection, I bought 4, 1 is frozen in the back of my truck the other 2 were accessible, and the last is my blade I have now

Here’s what I bought at the thrift store

Ironically the one I DIDNT bring to the golfing buddy says 100% graphite right on it lol

I hope this helps guys, I can’t tell you if these are putters, drivers, or pogo sticks

Those look like 15 (R) and 16(L) mm shafts, very nice! I bet they go Thwack when hit together, and ring when they hit the ground :)

Yo this is awesome!
I just bought a new heiland and graflex holiday special saber, and on the reflector of the heiland, I found some awesome vintage gaffers tape (I think).
Either way it looks awesome on my V2!

nice! if you slice the AS nipple piece in half, the thicker section is the right height for the Shared Stunt. Just drop it into the emitter hole and it raises up the floor to the right depth.

Thanks for the free blade plug idea, thd9791. I just might do that, if I can figure how to cut it even enough. Maybe mark it all around, attempt a hacksaw, and then clean it up with a file/sandpaper? I also should mention my Lowe's bought Irwin-Hanson metric tap and die set ate through the drilled holes with no problems. My son did have trouble drilling the 2.X mm hole in the windvane. I had to take over when I saw it going sideways-hence the larger opening. I also used a 4 mm instead of a 4.2 mm drill bit and it didn't matter for the 5.0mm taps.

Thanks for the cutting oil tip and tapping instructions, Halliwax! I had previously had success without oil and just clearing the tap as I went though. That 3mm hole is excessively long-probably would've broke the tap without oil. The link spreader suggestion for the d-ring is also a great one. I got a cheap set of them from amazon.
