Y-Wing Building

The email address I have for Nick is apparently out of date and my email bounced, so I'll post this message to him (and, by extension, you guys) publicly:

Saw the post Steve made. WOW, looks great.. I'm proud of the infinitesimal help I was able to offer to the project, and regret greatly that I didn't find more time for it during the past year. The other guys more than made up for little 'ol me, however.

Looks like you have it buttoned up, but if you still need help with
anything, do let me know.

Hey Jay,

I didnt know you helped. Thanks man. All these projects would not have been as great without your help.

Email me and I'll send you Nicks email.

YOWZA. Suddenly I don't rgret having to shelve this project a couple of years ago to work on the Falcon. Outstanding job by all involved...

I was fortunate enough to run into Dan S (1138) next to the Falcon model at Celebration 3 and chat for a while. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet up with him during the rest of the weekend for a "meeting of the Dans". If you're out there somewhere Dan, it was great getting to talk to a fellow S.S. builder.

Thanks Guys, I have passed on all the ataboys to the group and they are all happy yall are pleased with the progress.

I have a correction though. The Dan's had asembled a kit list for the Y Wing that was more near 40 individual vintage kits before asking Doug to join the project. Sorry guys... I want to make sure folks know the amount of time and money that went into this. You both are outstanding.

Thats one thing you dont want to do in this hobby is get your kit part identifiers and suppliers mad. :D

Keep the emails comming. More pictures to add soon.

Steve

Steve and gang, this Y-Wing totally rocks. I have always, always, always wanted one of these, and a studio scale model is a dream come true.

I know the amount of time and money y'all have invested in this project is immense, and I thank you for it.

that is totally awesome I humbly kneel before the masters and beseach thee to burn my Y it will never meet or come near this marvelous creation

Steve,

Any idea when this kit might be available? I will seriously pony up the cash to assure one. I'd love to hear how things are going.

hi there

not sure if this should be in general model forum as its not accurate though it is studio scale so here goes so no laughing lol, started this not so long ago and thought id share my pics so far, it know its way off a replica but its only my 2nd scratch and its been fun so far. I tip my hat to the likes of bobaflint and darkside72 for the work they have done on replicating the Y wing but theres no way i wanted this to sit on the bench for the amount of years it takes to complete the herculean task of sourcing all the relevant parts from yesteryear, i know mine is a no cigar build but i thank all on here for the inspiration to give this ship a go myself.

Can anyone give me some info on where this project stands? I definitely will buy one if a kit is produced. As a new member to the forum I've picked up a lot of great info, particularly when it comes to my SS X-wing when I start to build it but when it comes to this topic I can't seem to get any info. So far I've tried on numerous occasions to get ahold of SWpropmaker but so far no luck. I hope he hasn't been shipped back overseas. Anyway, any info and help would be appreciated.

hi all

i dont post much here but thought id share wat ive been doing, i know its not studio scale accuracy wise, but here is my 1/24 Y wing scratch, ive tried to get the detaling proportionally right, but no way did i have the time and money to go all out like some of you guys, but lets just say some people on here inspired me to try this, be nice to see others work on this ship too as this thread has kinda died a death and its always been a damn good read, hope you like her.

the part in question I have used a small part from the kettenkrad treads chopped up and sanded to shape but I still think its not the right part
in looking at trek kits over the weekend the TOS klingon cruiser caught my attention if you have this kit look at the top aft end of the neck there is a scetion that has two similar triangular shapes bleded together can onyone please let me know if I am once again barking up the wrong tree
I have checked and tripple checked all 2000 kits I have and this is the best I can find if I can't find the right one I might have myself commited to an asylum
