Y-Wing Building

Boatbuilder,

I've wondered about that "lab" part myself but I can't explain the relationship with the hump like deal it would have to reside within/ or on. I'll look into it.

I was looking through the airfix oo scale kits yesterday and the m3 lee tank has 2 turret options the taller turret looks similar to that bumps hump thing but it would have to be modified or cut up to fit that area if you want I can scan it in and I have to m 60 a2 flint say ther word and I will scan that in as wel and post pics here

I have these kits:

Tamiya M60A2
Tamiya US Tank Destroyer M36 Jackson
Tamiya US Tank Destroyer M10

What did you need to know or see. I have both version of the M60 so....................

PM me a good e-mail addy and I will shoot some picts for you to look through. Also, any other kits you want to look in side of just let me know and if I have them I will shoot some picts for you. Do you require a scale in the picts? or just fronts and backs of the trees?

M

I suppose those HO scale Roco tanks that go on the side of the Galactica have already been looked into for the upper neck piece? This is, of course, more speculation. Has anyone looked into this?

Now that you bring it up, I never thought of it. But it makes sense that they would use them. They were around and used by Apogee.

Where are you thinking? I haven't spotted anything that looks like an HO scale AFV on the Y-Wing.

The top of the neck... in-between R2 and the head section... the sloped part. I know it's a long shot, but it just came to my mind when I was looking at photos of Jim Creveling's Galactica replica. And it seems that one of those might be about the correct size.

Flint, post a pict of the area in question. Since I have these ROCO's I can see what I see. I am going to do those picts for you this weekend. Do you need picts of anything else? If I have it I'll shoot it.

I doubt any of the roco's were used I have all the roco's for the big G they don't match not to mention they are too small

IMO

Darkside,

A few posts back you mentioned something about your camera... I am very sorry, I guess I didn't catch it the first time. I appreciate the offer, however I don't think it would be a great idea to handle someone else's camera in the type of environment I am usually in (an ocean-going vessel). I have a nice digital of my own... a Sony 5.0 MP, 5x optical zoom, manual shutter and aperture... Should be able to get nice shots with it... if they allow photography there, that is.

About the Roco's... yeah, my mistake. The picture I was looking at looked like a basic "slope" but upon seeing some other shots of it, I realized it was nothing like I thought it was. It looks nothing like a tank.

Remember way back when we said that the guns on one of the Y Wings were from a 1/12 motorcycle?

I hope you guys can see these images...

In Japan, you can open model kits BEFORE you buy them. It's Aoshima, and it's a Honda motorcycle. The correct one is probably not chrome either. I didn't have any luck on the other parts, however...

wow is all I can say how do they get away with that opening kits before you buy them mauled by the mulitudes how do they then justify the cost after the box and parts have been man-handled

ROn,

Keep in mind that those motorcycle parts are replacement parts and were not on the original model. ALL four of the ANH Gold Y's had the Airfix BF109E guns for the upper canons in the film.
