Wizarding World props

In case you guys aren't bored of this yet, here are a few more props. I also added some notations to the pics on the first page.

Hagrid's scarecrow, which sits in the queue line for the Hippogryph roller coaster. The Jack-o-lantern head is all I can claim credit for.

Yeah, I know. It's just a pumpkin, but it's my pumpkin. :angry

I was told that they were going to use my molds to make real candy skeletons for the candy shop. Don't know if that ever happened or not. Couldn't help but laugh at the idea of thousands of teenage girls walking around Orlando with a little piece of me in their mouths. :lol

Life-sized Ravenclaw mascot. Like the snake he sits at the base of the Architect statue. You guys who have been to the park might recall a big statue of a weird looking, out-of-proportion guy with bug eyes and body parts three sizes too big. There's a lion sitting at his feet that looks like someone punched a muppet. Seriously, go look for it next time. It's frickin hysterical.

Where was I? Oh yeah, the raven. Never did like it, but here it is anyway.

Ozy Grerat pops as always, do you have a photo of the big status for thoes of us that won't be getting to the park any time soon ?

What has JK rowling got against soft drinks ? I know she is Scottish but they do drink things other than whiskey :)

JK was/is on a realism kick. The Wizarding World doesn't have soft drinks so the park version of it cannot have them as well.

Its fine actually, walk about 3 seconds and your out of that area and at a soft drink stand.

I've got a ton of area photos, going to take prop photos over the next few visits, I'll post them up when I get a chance.

From what I have been hearing the park is not allowing any one (that doesn't work in the park) to cosplay in the park. I don't know if this is true. It better not be because other park let it happen

I read a visitor's blog which said the same thing, that attendees are not permitted to visit in full costume. This doesn't surprise me, as Disneyland has the same policy. I believe the purpose is to keep the park visitors (many of whom are children) from being fooled or confused by people whom they assume to be park employees.

@Jinyo: It is the first time I have ever heard of such thing, there a lot of other parks and festivals that let you dress up for the park or festival, it's sad that they don't let you. there taking away great photos opportunes for you as as fans

I agree. But if you keep an eye out, there are some opportunities for costuming fans.
For example, I have heard that there will be a special event for the local Harry Potter fan group which will basically let them visit the park in costume. You should do some research to see if there are other costume-friendly events in the works.
For example, Disneyland has annual Halloween events which opens the park to costumed visitors, pretty much the only time they allow full cosplay in the park. You should see if Universal Islands of Adventure has such an event.

@Jinyo: I think we need to start a petition to have Universal and Disney open to having people in full costumes if they what to be

Don't bother, it will never work. Way too much liability. All they need is to have some nut dressed up (not referring to people who like costumes, just a weirdo in this case), other guests wanting to take a picture with them, and then have the person in costume play, "wanna find my wand" with a kid.

I've been to WWoHP a few times and seen people in Hogwart's robes and ties everytime.

And god it must be hot, we laugh because its 95+ degrees and someone walks by in long robes and a tie.

As for any of the more extreme costumes, don't bother - if your face is covered, ie a deatheater, or it would cause confusion in the park they are going to ask you to change or leave.

@teecrooz, Dakarn: Other parks and fests have done it, I just don't get why people that what to do it don't get the change to do it

Saw all the stuff in the line for Dueling Dragons a couple of days ago and thought what a nice job someone did. I just now am catching this thread.

They did a great job theming...now if they can just do something about the heat and long lines! :LOL

I heard they have stop hard liquor and have bans all hard liquor including Hogs Head ale? I hope this is not true. Does any one know if it is?

Anyway, this thread is about the props at the park. Costumes and beer are OT or in the costuming forum.

Ozy, any more pictures of the items you created or others created? I have no idea when I'll be able to visit the park, so this will have to do for now!
