Wizarding World props

Yay, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has officially opened, so now I can show people what I've been doing for the past year.

DSC00318.jpg

Golden Egg replica sculpted from detailed reference photos, accurate to within milimeters of the original.
DSC00482.jpg

Quiditch props all molded and cast from screen used originals.
DSC00022.jpg

Brass Phoenix fire irons that sit on either side of Dumbledore's fireplace. Again reproduced from detailed photos of the original props.

Tri-Wizard Cup molded and cast from original screen used prop. Although it's hard to tell in the photos, there is actually a complex quartz pattern inside the resin. Of four attempts to pour it, only one was usable due to the complexity of the quartz effect.

Life-sized Slytherin mascot. I never got pics of the final castings but it got an aged golden finish and sits on the pedestal of the Architect statue.

amazing work, I take it you were contracted to make replicas for the exhibit. I like the egg and the quidditch stuff.

The pellet with the poison's in the Flagon with the Dragon; the Vessel with the Pestle has the brew that is true. You have the Flagon, so where is the Vessel with the Pestle? :lol

Great work!

David.

and....I guess these are not for sale but for decorate ...
Did you make other things for sale?
Which props can we find there that appears in the movies?
Thanks for sharing your amazing work!

wow! that is amazing stuff. I am taking the family down there in August, so I will be sure to look for these things!

Very cool! I'm there in July and I can't wait. Very nice work! Is the quaffle real leather? I know the museum exhibit folks had a heck of a problem with them.

Couple more for fun. These are both fully animatronic automata.

This is an automata of the Wizards' Chess from the first movie. Really great paint and electronics work from my colleagues on these.

And finally the dragon and Harry from the Tri-Wizard tournament.

And just for reference, the entire length of Harry Potter fits within the diameter of a nickel. I got a big compliment on him when the art director looked at the sculpt under a magnifying glass and said "Holy crap, he actually looks like Daniel Radcliffe."
Unfortunately, because of the size, none of the pictures of him came out very well. :angry

Oh, and just to be clear, the castle was supplied to us. I modified it for the piece, but the sculpt isn't mine.

The dragon is cute. It's too bad you couldn't get a close-up. It's always interesting to see miniatures.

I would love to see a video of it in motion -- or even see it when I'm at the park. Where was it installed?

Nope. All the quiditch props are cast resin, molded from the original screen props. But the finish on them is so good that, even standing right next to them, you can't tell it isn't leather until you pick it up. Big props to George on his paint job.

And yeah, I know all about the museum quiditch balls. They liked ours to much that they tried to get us to make new ones for them. Only problem is that they wanted real leather inflatable balls for kids to use. I think they talked to a soccer ball maker too, and even they said it couldn't be done. Just think what would happen to those big, concave divets when it got filled with air.

I think this is the best one I got. Without a good SLR camera on hand the pics were eiter dark and grainy or the flash would blow out the miniatures.

Unfortunately, Harry is so small that the paint filled in a lot of detail, escpecially on the face and hands. And believe it or not, his jersey acutually does read "POTTER" on the back.

Both the automata (castle and chess set) are in window displays down the main walk. Just look in the shop windows and you can't miss them.

Oh my! What a great work.
The Triwizard Cup and the Golden Egg are totally outstanding:love
Amazing work on the other sculpts too.

Thanks for the pictures.

******** it, Krel. I just got that out of my head. That line works its way in like a song and never wants to leave.

Ozymandius - Truly gorgeous work. I can't wait to get to the park to see it in person.

Oh wow these are fantastic! Like I wasn't excited enough for Wizarding World now I'm even more so! My BFF just moved to Florida last year, I'm sure she'll give me a huge review of the place before I manage to save up my own trip over to visit her (and go wizarding together)

Thi stuff is awesome... and it is made right here in my backyard... Orlando. Wish I could have seen the work happening in person. Great job!!

I was looking in the online shop , and it seems they are still working on it.
By now , they are going to sell
REMEMBRALLS
SNEAKOSKOPES
SPECTRESPECS
SCREAMING YOYO
WANDS
And other things , of course...
I posted the things that could be called PROPS .
The "eatable" ones , such as CHOCOLATE FROGS AND Bertie Bott's Every-Flavor Beans will be not shipped ...
Anyone knows about more props to be purchased at the park?
