WIP Cooper Star Destroyer with Fiber Optics

i bought the fiber from a seller off german feebay.

today played around with airbrush colors to find a decent white/grey mix that finally satisfies me.

and here a small test fitting of the whole upper star destroyer, just for fun :)

Lots and lots of test fitting and sanding, major pain to fit everything nicely.

These buildings are a real *****!!! I've been working on and off for 6 weeks adjusting and test fitting..........not until today did mine start getting close enough to continue the build. It doesn't help when the buildings are warped either. Some worse than others.

firstly, thanks for all the nice comments guys !

made some more progress over the weekend. have begun detailing the deflector shield domes with some brass T track.
since the diameter of the bottoms is bigger now, i had to mill out the old rings on the bridge and made new ones.
i had the luck to find a part from an old tamiya kit which had a ring in a exact fitting diameter.

and today i built up and wired up the engine area !

i've used LED's for the engines. the same ones which light the fibers.

added 7 more LED's to the side trenches today.

i try to replicate the look on the studio model, where it seems that some bigger lights iluminate the deeper recessed areas of the trenches.

Yes, there are lights all along the brim trenches. You can notice the heatsink on this pic :

Pic taken by Jedi Dade.

I think the bulb is hidden by the little tube to avoid any light reflects which coulbd be taken by the cam I guess.

Very nice job btw !
