Willem Dafoe GREEN GOBLIN HELMET on the cheap by Rehauling an Xcoser Helmet!

Just want to note that I would only be slightly dusting the 'purple fog' over the back edges of the helmet and ears,
I also notice there is a 2 tone Vader style use of the purple paint on the sides of the helmet

Interesting— are you sure it's two tone vader/opera mask style and not just the nature of the color shifting paint with certain highlights/shadows on parts of the helmet? In other scenes with less dramatic lighting, the parts that should look purple from the photos above look green, with different parts of the helmet looking purple.

Thx, if I had access to accurate automotive chameleon paint, then I would just do the whole thing one color, but I think I'll do a base coat of green&teal, and a light dust of teal&purple on the sides resembling the 4th image you provided

Here are all the images I have photoshopped when figuring out exactly what I need to do in terms of reshaping the mask

More filling, more cutting, more adding, more constantly checking my references, fixed the eyes, mouth, chin, and eyebrows aswell as added the sides of the dome

Eventually plan to make a neck piece by gluing bungee strap cord to a morph suit, I could embroider it but that's a lot of time and people can never do the ribbing tight enough, nor do they get it in perfect lines, wrapped cord would not only look more accurate, but they actually did glue down leather rope to the suit in alot of areas.

Here is a free version of the file. You could have it printed through one of those 3D printing services. Can't imagine it would cost more than the X-coser mask. Green Goblin Helmet by TMBort
I got an estimate for $600-$700. I chose a local place, so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping, so other places may have lower prices, but that's what I got.

(Note, this estimate included a "bottom-back" piece from another model, because it wasn't included in this one, and the estimate for the other model was $1,000+. Apparently it's more expensive to print the entire front of the helmet in one piece, instead of four)

So yeah, UtanteV27's plan may very well be the most cost effective way to make a high quality Green Goblin helmet. If you want to go even cheaper, you may have to go the cardboard or EVA foam route.

$600 for a raw print? TJackFX sells resin castings of the DO3D file with the backplate and mirrored gold lenses for $200. I wouldn't even pay $1000 for a fully finished one. You can get finished ones for much less than that.

Cut a v shape into the red part and heated it with my hair dryer to match the contours of the rest of the mask, beefing all the edges with foam and wrapping the back in tape to reduce the amount of putty I'll have to use.

Plenty of refilling and sanding to make the mask symmetrical

Also alot of looking back and forth from my reference images I ended up having to change the angle of the dome, making alot of the below pictures pointless, I will post the new dome immediately after this, but If I had the angle right from the beginning then the first paragraph would still be very useful information

New, fully accurate dome,

The original was too curved, like the El_Fett helmet,
I was scared it might have been inaccurate after remembering how straight the dome looked on the dumpster in No Way Home, and I was correct! thanks fear of guessing!

Its getting alot better but theres still something about that eye shape
Inspecting the eye sockets I noticed that even though I had fixed the side profile, the interior of the sockets gets really thick around the sides, bending the lenses so that from the front it's a circle and from the sides it's more oval, I have already started the right socket

I'm sure you already have these, but just in case you don't here are pretty close to straight on side and front shots of one of the prototypes. (The tip of the nose seems to be the biggest difference I can quickly spot)

Love seeing this project updated each day and can't wait to see it finished!

Check out this helmet that was gonna be used! It has a purple backplate and Iron Mannstyle detachable faceplate for more expressive scenes!
Although the helmet we ended up with is iconic and though I would rather have a film accurate helmet before any hypothetical, I 100% prefer this one

I would like to create a design for the interior of the mask, I know in actuality he would just have wires and a few gears around the eyes but for some reason i really want to go full Rots Darth Vader
