What does your Workshop/Workspace look like?

Set up and ready to get at it tomorrow. There's going to be a wraparound workbench with a CNC sound box at one end of the workbench as you walk in. The CNC router will be slightly elevated off the floor inside the box and since the box top will be higher than the workbench, I'll use it for the computer, electronics, and possibly shelving. There's also going to be shelves put up all around along with the "peg board" inserts. I'm thinkin the main "work site" will be right in front of that window.... Lots of natural light.

Once this is done, I should have a small lathe that will go into the double-door closet and I'll have to build it's base into the closet and add lighting and shelves.

Fun times. :)

Ladies and Gentleman, this morning the workshed was finally ready to get modelling. Trying to name the place...was thinking of Wookey Cave ( star wars and also a cave in the UK)

Any other ideas?

Very slick Derek, I've about 50% the area and currently trying to clean it up as I repaint, you've nailed your workflow , that's what I'm trying to decide where to place each station to ensure its as efficient as possible. But it may need further tuning down the road anyway.

Cheers VAC, might need to tweak it too once I get using it. Ideally I want at least 2 projects on the go at once, otherwise I will never get through the backlog!

Still got the extractor to fit when it arrives and paint the outside of the shed...sorry workshop!

Did a bit on my SS Buck Rogers Starfighter today. Music on...was good to have a dedicated space for my madness LOL

Hello, It's great to see everyone's work spaces here and they've definitely given me some inspiration to organize mine better.

Anyway, we bought our house about 3 years ago and my wife was gracious enough to allow me to take an extra bedroom in the basement and transform it into a "craft room" We tore up the carpet, put down laminate, base cabinets, and 2 - 8' tops.

I've got my El Cheapo Paint Booth that I can vent outside and I'm good to go....

Very smart how you've located your reference screen next to the extract ,

I'm totally ashamed to show my work shop as it look like the aftermath of a transformers movie But I finish work in a few week and after a quick tidy I'll post photo's my tiny shed.
this is a great thread . I love seeing how the rest of you work

I literally laughed out loud when I read your Transformers reference. My wife was driving at the time and looked at me strange. But don't worry, after 21 years, I'm just glad she still looks at me at all ! .....too funny!

OK, here is where all of the damage is done at SRS P.;

I wish I had the space that some of you have!
Here is my little desk and shelf. I built the cabinet myself to hold all my bits and bobs.
I have enforced a clean desk policy so that at the end of each session I leave it nice and neat.
And yes, the cup of tea is a permanent (although refillable) addition!

A lot of you guys have nice set ups!

Btw I like the cupboard ^^^^ ;)

This here is my new set up, since I just moved to this area. its not what I want (but since I'm still living at my parents because I'm in high school senior) its the best I get...for now. :)
photo 1.JPG
my area is under the lamps.
photo 2.JPG
The bigger tools are my Dads, most of the stuf under the 2 lamps is mine, but I get to use all of it :)

You guys are just too organized.

My work space is a mess, and not an organized mess either. Well, I know where stuff is - mostly...

Today I amazed myself by getting a molding and casting box together that has everything I need to mold and cast (except my vacuum chamber, because that is just too big to lug around, mush less store in a box) except products (which still sit on the floor).

I have also created a portable (Hmm, more like collapsible) large, work station that I can do some decent sized (1800mm x 1200mm) jobs on. And it all fold down to be stored when not in use.

work shop.jpg Ok so I said i was going to clear up but who ever has time and this is usually what it looks like when I'm working. half finished degasser and huey
on the desk spinner parts kept away form moisture until molded.

My space is a little more modest...:)

I'm super paranoid to do any kind of work anywhere near my iMac which is why I keep the Mac in the living room, which is at the other end of the house. When it's not in use, it, along with all other clean-environment-needing equipment (printers, scanner, etc) get covered. Same with the PC running my CNC in my workroom, when not in use, the pc, screen and Variable Frequency Drive (for the spindle) get covered. Every other month or so, I usually spend the weekend cleaning and dusting the entire house... 1100 sq ft of top-to-bottom dusting and cleaning.
