does anyone know how well reflective tape sticks to fabric? I want to put some on my outfit but not have to buy the sew in stuff (they only seem to come in a square pattern)
ok.. paint help if someone has an answer:
I ooops'd! a tad the other day. Without noticing my error quickly enough I find I had a bit of 'drip' on my recently spray painted helm. Seems I slowed down for a second, or it might be the nozzle on the can as it has happened again since I tested the paint elsewhere, and got that ugly dripping look right along the front of the helm, just above where I will putting my visor.
Any suggestion of how I can fade or remove this drip look from the Semi-Gloss Black Rust-oleum fast drying spray paint? Very light sanding with 200-400 (or finer) paper and then careful retouching with a few well aimed paint sprays, or other option you have found to work well?
Here's the Tron: Uprising series trailer, for those that hate to search as I do.

Termin8Anakin - The costumes look fantastic! I am most intrigued by the lady on the right, as the Siren. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do that suit. Do you know how she made hers? Thanks!

Woah. Much higher quality than I expected... then again, it's Disney.
Both the physics and the look/feel of it seem to be a hybrid of Legacy and the original movie. Light cycles can cut at right angles; the suits (at least for our unnamed protagonist) has circuit-board-inspired designs all over, as opposed to a few solid glowing lines....
Looks like Disney is trying to rev up a franchise a la Clone Wars, and I wish them luck. This certainly looks awesome, and it could catch fire with a whole new generation of information-savvy kids, much as it did me a couple decades ago....
Thanks for sharing. I'd have missed it if I hadn't seen it here.
The design seems to be what I call TRON 1.5 (i.e. what my TRON Legacy costume concept was inspired by) and Disney is actually spending some coin on the series it seems. Nice graphics, smooth movement, and with luck.. only slightly aimed at kids.
Since the storyline takes place somewhere around the same time, or slightly before/after the TRON: Betrayal comix, the modern Legacy style circuits and the old school 'board' lines seem to have a nice mix when thrown together. It has made me happy knowing that I was doing exactly that on my costume and now I have video direct from the source as validation of my creative attpemts. :love
She bought a silver zentai suit off ebay and then just modified it by cutting it up and adding the white sections. The long gloves are made from the same material.
The reason for getting a silver suit over a white one is because of the crotch and underarm sections are the hardest to get right yourself.
The reflective tape was just cut out and stuck on with velcro. She'll do the same thing when she finishes the EL wire.
You'll notice on the Sirens that their light lines are simply stuck on, rather than integrated within the suit like Sam and Quorra. This made making the suit easier, but at the same time harder because she had to wear the suit while they traced and GLUED ON the pattern for the light lines - as it was stretchy lycra the lines would've deformed heaps if she'd done it while it was off.
The shoes were just normal stilettos. We couldn't figure out how to make awesome cut out heels haha.
1.) Bit of an odd question, but how mobile can one be in a zentai suit? Is it possible to dance in it? I'm hoping to do an LED hoop routine (lit to mimic a Tron disc) in the siren costume. But to do that, I'd need the mobility.
