Fantastic work ! I'm currently working on one too, but using an old broken MK3 helmet I had but starting to realise it might have been better to start from scratch. And you are definitely right, I studied all the pics available, the prop displayed in SDCC and the digital one from the trailer are different, in shape and even the paint job. Not only the head by the way, the chest piece has a different avenger logo painted on too.
Working on the hand too, 3D model, gonna print it once I get my printer replaced.
By the way, are you going for his full form like in the trailer as a statue or just the half one like the prop ?

That hand looks brilliant buddy! I Used my MK3 helmet to get a few measurements off of. I would probably have used one as a base model too, but i haven't got round to casting it yet.
At the moment I'm just going for a wearable bust i.e. head, neck and maybe the chest. I might attempt a full costume eventually. I'll see how things turn out

Just a small update... added some detail parts to the gaps in the jaw area.
My soldering iron has broken, so i'm a little behind on getting the lights fitted.

I'm using a pretty shoddy soldering iron at the moment, so i'm gonna re-do it when i get a better one, but this gives an idea of what the effect will look like.
Next, is to work one some greebles for the inner head... more pics to come soon!
