The show your custom BLASTER thread!

Loving all these new customs, guys!! Keep em coming!

You know, for awhile I thought one of those old Binatone light guns was the base for Mace's blaster in the first Ewok movie "Caravan of Courage", but I discovered it's actually something else. Stay tuned while I find a pic.

Here you go, one of the great toy guns of my childhood and all time!

I'm sure everyone knows about the Edison Giocatolli? (It's a tough one for me to spell) toy guns. They're all so beautiful. But yeah, this was the base for Mace's blaster in the Ewoks movies!

I actually had one as a kid, and still have parts of it to this day! The longer barrel broke off long ago, and I turned the "pistol" into a custom blaster of sorts back in the 90s. I'll dig it out and take some pics!

Awesome! Hahaha, I've actually got a folder with reference in it somewhere. There's not much.

Here's what's left of that custom from the late 90s... Pretty sure there were originally more greeblies on there. I know there were some wires in the channel where the stock would attach...

I used to have that one. I would take the stock off and pretend it was Snake Eye’s uzi. I used to have an automatic pistol called the Exacta too and one that looked like Bond’s Walther. I still have my .38 with silencer.

Is that the pump slider from some shotgun toy on the side?
Nope, it was just a length of some flex tubing from the hardware store, with what I think are parts of an old flashlight reflector at either end.

And at the edge of the tubing, on the top side of the "blaster" is a red straw from a can of WD40!

And MJF, without the stock, it TOTALLY looks like a little GI Joe gun!

Sorry, but I have to be a bit of a Debbie Downer - the picture hanging brackets are NOT doing it for me. I immediately recognized what they were, and therefore they look terrible (IMO). I think the key is to use parts that aren't recognizable for what they actually are.

Otherwise the gun definitely looks like it fits in the OT.

Back on Page 4 a couple years ago I did a Binatone. After staring at it for a few years, I wasn't loving the Greedo killer flash hider. It just looked too much like a power washer or something...

So I decided to redo the barrel...

I think it has the stubby, over-weathered, copy of a copy, dusty museum feel of a trash background-character blaster from ROTJ... which I love.

That said, I kinda missed the long barrel that gives the Binatone it's DL-18 vibe... so I got another one and decided to make a "heavy" version of the Skiff Guard blaster...

I picked up a busted up on Nerf Longshot on eBay recently. It was missing the extendable stock and the bipod mount section was pretty messed up. I filled all the screwholes, removed the logos, and fabricated a forward grip using resin poured into an easter egg chocolate bars packaging (I always find confectory packing has really cool shapes for big clunky detailing) I also chopped up an existing nerf stock and rearranged it to make a newer one. The scope is from a Nerf Vortex.
The pistol is just a repainted PS2 lightgun with very few tweaks. Again, all screw holes were filled in as it's one of my biggest peeves with repaints...seeing superb paintjobs being let down by toy like screwholes.

Very cool! Nice use of the Cutts Compensator on the M38. It looks way better on your gun than on a Model 12. LOL
What is the base gun? It looks C96ish. Regardless, it's a really nice looking blaster.

Ah, I see. I thought the hammer was part of the base. I'm more of a shotgun guy (trap shooter), so I didn't recognize it.

Well executed. It really looks like it was made that way.
