The Mandalorian (TV series)

So Boba Fett taking up residence in Jabba's palace. Is that why he was hanging around in ROTJ? Just looking for an opening to make his move, then Luke and company showed up and ruined his plans?

When I saw the X-Wing I knew it had to be Luke. The way He fought his way on the Bridge was something people have waited for nearly 40 years. It was magic. The CGI was not the best I've seen so far. But the way they presented Luke was great. Much respect and love for the character. It's amazing how emotional Star Wars can be if people who have respect to the source material are in charge.

Great final for the season. I think SW is going downhill after that with the huge load of stuff they're throwing at us now.

But this scenes with Luke was so special to me. I wish they had done things like that 20 years ago with Hamill himself.

So the only thing that matters to you is that Luke is a badass???

If so. All I can say is..... Wow. You've totally missed the point of, like, all of Star Wars....... You are basically Luke of ESB, looking for a "great warrior."
"Mmm. Wars not make one great."

"Excitement. Ha! Adventure. Ha! A Jedi craves not these things."
Have to say I'm with you on this. This was the equivalent of the R1 Vader hallway scene which was like a computer game scene and/or old EU version, total surface level. I don't like TLJ and the treatment Luke got (or more the realization of it) but this had absolutely no emotions out of me. I know I'm in a tiny minority.
The one thing I really liked was when Din got his helmet off for the little guy.

No, it's just the only place the audience knows he has been before. You know...things we know so it makes it kooal.

Does anybody else think about that there was some recognition between r2 &grogu? Could r2 be the one that rescued grogu from the Jedi temple? Have to rewatch episode 3....

That would be one redeeming quality for bringing in Luke for me. R2 is one smart little astromech...plus that's a friggin hilariously cute image of him being whisked away on top of R2, just yeeting the hell out of here.

Better than this.

Interesting. Looks like they had Lola vfx do the de aging. Iirc first one they did years ago, x-men the last stand. De aging Patrick & Ian.
Not bad for the time & budget they had.

I love s2 ep 7 the most out of all of them.
Re watched 5 or 6 times.
This last one, still taking it all in.

Everybody's talking about the shift knob, or even trying to turn this into yet again another broken record ST thread, and nobody's talking about Din Djarin being now the true MANDALORE?!?!?!? wtf guys...

This season finale felt like the end of the series, at least that's how I felt after watching it first. But now that we've had time to process what just happened (and after watching it a couple more times lol), think about it: now we've got Grogu finally learning to use his power, Fett back as a crime lord, Bo with almost her own fleet and the dark saber (albeit through Djarin... drama!), Gideon and the clone technician as prisoners of NR marshal Dune... If they are smart, there's so much to be told here.
So much.

I remember during the first season some people arguing the narrative was limited because of the lone wolf and cub format. I don't think these people have actually read lone wolf and cub. And there's no way Grogu's not coming back for his shift knob.

In the after credit scene they said "The Book Of Boba Fett, Coming December 2021". Does that mean the next season of the Mandalorian will be a Boba Fett story? Does that mean they have wrapped up this "Book" and are moving on? What does everyone think?

Two quick things:

1. On a rewatch, before Luke showed up when they were all preparing for the Dark Troopers to crash the door down, I thought to myself: "Wait, you're literally holding the Darksaber in your hand. Use it on these guys!" I get that it's still not the same as having a Jedi, but that could have balanced the odds a bit so that it wasn't actually all that dire, perhaps.

2. I'm such the kid that grew up playing with Kenner toys that I didn't even reflect on Bib suddenly having his "staff" until this morning when I realized we've never seen it on screen before. So once again, we can see how this show is the result of a couple of "kids" playing with their Kenner toys from the toybox...

Sounds like influence from my even more disliked show Filoni has worked on…that Avatar show was split up into “books”, wasn’t it?

Watching it again (fourth time), & after you guys suggesting it was R2 that rescued Grogu,....it makes sense,....perhaps the gearshift knob reminded the little fellow of something

Book of Boba Fett Theme, Fan made,...but very nice, incorporating ESB Theme:
