I wish that they would continue to be original. Why would they think we need references to other Star Wars shows to make this good? If they keep this up, I’m out!

A fickle bunch, the fans are...

You misunderstand. Most of the things you mentioned are trappings of this universe. The concern is the risk of Ashoka and the CW characters robbing the focus of the show away from the main story. Thankfully they've played it smart thus far.

I think it's fair to say that they've introduced new characters in almost every single episode for a season & a half, & even with some recurring multiple times, not one has taken the focus from Din & the Child. They've been used to develop his character & show some of his shortcomings, but none have taken over. Cobb Vanth was only in one episode so far. People felt that if Boba showed up, it would shift focus. He was on for 15 seconds & most fans seem to want more. Bo Katan served her purpose & didn't shift focus. I don't have any personal fear that they'd do anything any different with anyone else. History seems to bear that out.

I haven’t really heard anyone else critique the direction by Carl Weathers last episode. Overall I felt the acting and directing weak, particularly running around the base hallways where I never felt any real sense of danger. But to be fair, I really liked the speeder transport chase, this cranked the volume up to 11!

Personally I’ve liked Carl Weathers in almost everything he’s ever acted in (Apollo Creed!). But his directing this episode was hit and miss for me.

I agree that so far they've done well with the member berries. Utilized sparingly and for the most part, well. As long as they keep it to a minimum, I'm still on board. So far being the operative words.

I thought this episode was just okay. I know Ahsoka is Filoni’s girl but I don’t think his direction was tight enough for how impactful her abilities should be. Her fight with the magistrate was also entirely too evenly matched, I would have liked to see something akin to a mirror of Vader’s Rogue One hallway, where the magistrate throws guard after guard at her before Ahsoka finally corners her. Did NOT expect
Grand Admiral Thrawn
to come up.
