So for those of you still trying to figure out the mask, I did a bit of work on that today.


I will be using two types of fabric. One is a basic black cotton. Pretty much t-shirt material type of fabric, that will be the base for the mask. I will be leaving the face part of it open so I can see. The purpose of this fabric will pretty much be for shape, comport, and making sure it does not stretch too much through out the day.

For the eye covering portion, I got a Sensua mesh. It is a mix of nylon and spandex. It stretches just a little, but not too much. When I layered the fabric three times it creates a thick enough layer that my eyes are practically invisible to on lookers, but when looking out its not worse than wearing a pair of sunglasses. I don't currently have picture of my fabrics as they are with my friend who is a seamstress and will be making the mask. Once we have done some more work on it I will upload pictures.


And on another note, I have also done some work on the billy clubs. I simply went to a martial arts store and bought a pair of practice nun-chucks which cost about $12. They are solid enough that they feel nice and will look awesome for pictures, and because they are pretty much plastic sticks with padding they will follow any Con security I have dealt with. And its pretty much just a thick shoelace connecting the two sticks so separating them will be easy. All I will need to do is cover up the golden dragons on the side, but that will be an easy fix.

I'm 100% finished now, decided to go with the hallway fight version of the costume. I have 10 metres (32.5 feet I think) of thin rope on each arm. I looped it between my fingers to hold it better in place, despite it looking a bit messier. I think it's a reasonable sacrifice since they are very secure this way. I didn't add the cuts to the shirt shown in the scene because I actually do use this McDavid shirt for working out. Mask is a 5$ t-shirt cut in half and tied up at the back. I can see fine and it's quite comfortable. Pants are a bit baggy but look pretty decent and the boots are more plain. I'll switch the boots out if I can find better ones as they're pretty heavy and a bit too big. I'll post a better picture when I have one and some closer details of the hand wraps.

Hey! I'm looking for feedback on my genderbent black mask design:

My major changes are more slim fitting pants, higher boots, stitching that emphasizes a feminine silhouette, and a mask that reveals my hair. I'm also using biker gloves instead of his full hand gloves, and red arm wraps. What do you think? I want it to be recognizable but still deviate distinctively from the original.

That's a great start. Maybe I'd go lighter on the red stitching on the shirt (it seems a bit busy to me). I love the red arm wraps and the mask is definitely the way to go (even if I wouldn't let it hang at the back seems weird with the long hair).

Thanks! I was questioning the stitching too. It's barely visible in the show, but it seems like a very distinctive feature that I see in almost every black suit cosplay.

^ My build. It's not screen accurate but i'm already happy with the result. The boots and gloves are different but i think it closely resembles the original. The shirt is not compression, i think i need to buy a new one. The part i'm really happy about is the mask because i got to create it easily by using leggings. I can see through it easily. This is my second cosplay,( my first was winter soldier). The only thing i need to do now is to bulk up. Haha.

While making the first holster I got several ideas for areas to improve. So I wanted to make another since its quick and easy. This time I documented the process. Very simple. Hopefully this helps anyone that is worried about making these. All you will need is a sewing machine or it could also be done by hand.

• 2 ct - 1" Side release buckle

Have we got any new ideas of what fabric to use for the red suit I'm looking for a fabric which I may pass on the one ofnthe cosplay companies there pattern is really nice but the leather is just odd if I want a leather daredevil I'll go for film version

I've completed two sets of screen-accurate stealth gear, one with the hex 8840R (M) and one with the hex 8800R (L). The pants for one set were dyed black from the correct version of the G-STAR Powel 3D Tapered pants; the other from a Dune/Tan pair. They also include the matte-knuckled Ringers gloves, the McDavid hexpad forearm pads and elbow pads, McDavid wrist supports, accurate web belts, and JKKS masks. I have one pair of the correct Bates tactical boots. The 8840R pictured below has had its white stitching inked red by hand. These took a while to get together, but it was a fun hunt and assembly! I really appreciate the show's use of so many found items for this costume. The mannequin is bigger than I am - it must be 6'2" or 6'3". Surprisingly, the medium shirt still fits! The pants are a bit small on him.

Seriously though that's awesome. You're definitely gonna be one of the few people out there with a completely accurate gear.
I'm still sad that I had to settle with close enough options for the shirt and pants.

You're still missing the holster and escrima sticks though

Looks great! Are these black pants the dyed sage or the dyed dune pair? If they are the sage like I`m thinking, would you be able to post what the dune pair looks like after being dyed? Thanks!
