The Definitive Marvel's Daredevil thread

Working on a red suit right now. It probably won't be super accurate but it'll be close. I'll post pics once it's all done.

Anyone making the red suit??? Can't find anyone making it on the RPF anywhere

Someone on the FB group Heroes for Hire made a post about wanting to commission a Daredevil movie suit. Then someone was tagged in the post, and he was revealed to be one of the people who worked on the red fabric for the movie. I'm not sure if the post is still there but he spilled some information about the production suit.

For giggles. I'm as blind as a ________

Just thought I would share this Daredevil mask i'm currently working on. It's not a true replica of the screen used mask, but it's heavily inspired by it. I originally intended on making it a true replica but the more I studied the design the less I liked how certain aspects of it looked. So i guess you could say this is a Netflix/comic hybrid.

(The colours are more purplish in the second photo, but in reality the mask loots more like the 1st image.)

If you wanna see the build process, check out my Flickr album here.

And I'll have the finished photos up on my Facebook page as soon as they become available.

Thanks for looking!

Anyone know the NY Comic Con policy on the wooden batons? Would it be better to just get foam batons and vinyl wrap them?

Hi everyone. I'm building up the pieces listed here for a cosplay, I kinda wish I didn't find this thread since I ended up buying a bunch of things based on what you guys found! XD

You do some amazing work and research. I notice on the front page and in the first 17 pages I read no-one had mentioned about the holster for the sticks. Was anything ever found? I've found a few websites that also assemble information on which pieces to gather and where best to get them but no mention of that.

Also was it ever confirmed the thickness and length of the sticks? Thanks a lot in advance =)

JKKS currently has his second run on the mask/holster/sticks open for purchase :) I have his V1.0 mask and holster, and they are perfect!
Also, if you are having trouble with the G-Star's, the G-Star website actually has a huge amount of Raven colour in stock in all sizes again atm.

Thanks for the reply, sadly despite the clearly talented workmanship of the holsters that's a bit beyond my price bracket. Amateur cosplayer here with little funding. And those pants...hooo boy, £110 is asking a lot. I have some black pants though, so that's okay. I'm still in the "It'll do" camp for now. No-where near as talented as some people here with their admirable need accuracy =)

How about the dowels? I've found plenty of places selling packs of 10 for cheap, I just need a rough estimate of size and length. I can at least keep them with me if not holstered.
Time's also a factor with me, I have a con coming up in 2 weeks, so I'm trying to make it look as good as possible for that. The next con after that is in 6 months so I'll have more time to prepare =)

What amused me was after having looked at the forearm guards and gloves, Amazon then recommended the other items from the front page to me. Seems this is a popular cosplay.

Thats fair enough, not everyone can afford that all the time :) I know them feels so bad, was just lucky to be able to spare cash on this one.
Not sure if you saw my pic on JKKS's thread, on the last page, but my escrima stick are just 1" broom handle cut at 16" each, I'm 6'1 btw, obviously you height will affect that length, but that seems to be the average I've seen, and almost everyone seems to be on the 1" :)

A 1 inch broom cut to 16 inches? =P Even if you meant one foot I'm not sure how you'd get 16 inches from that.
Did you mean 1 foot broom handle cut to 6 inches?

I'll see if I can find such an item on amazon or something =)
What's the circumference?

Sorry didn't mean to be confusing haha. 1" diameter cut 16" long each :)

The current style of the G-Star Powel 3D Tapered pants were produced after the production of DD season 1. There are enough major details off on them that they're actually less accurate than several alternatives that cost a fraction of the price. $180 is brutally expensive for "close but no cigar."

I'm all ears on alternatives. I may be forced to hit a military surplus store soon.

Hey all, so i've been following this thread build for a while and I just wanted to give a MAJOR thanks to all your hard work and inspiration. Hoping mine will be ready for NYCC.

Anyway, I wanted to give something back as a thank you. I saw someone post about NYCC possibly not allowing 'wood' props, so i wanted to share with you my Safe Baton method that Im using. Go to Home Depot and they should have these hard plastic shower curtain rod covers. They're long and cylindrical obviously and you can tape/cut them to look like batons. Then find some shelving paper and roll them in it.

Note: tape a piece of the shelving paper to the baton, roll a little then remove some of the adhesive back. it helps keep things even. The photo above contains (in order from top to bottom) shower rod, adhesive paper, finished product and actual wood staff for comparison.

And then boom! Safe batons that look real and still stand up on their own. So thank you, hope my addition helped and I'm off to go figure out how to remove the iron on insignia for the Compression shirt. And hope to see some of my fellow Daredevils at NYCC :D

That is a brilliant idea! Great work!
Also, nail polish remover works wonders on the logos for the compression shirts

Thanks! Glad i could help. I will say that the contact paper in that grain color is hard to find but you can order online. And remember to of course turn the paper so the grain so up/down rather than around.

And oh, thanks! I'll give that a try. I tried a little rubbing alcohol last night and that started the job. I'm in mad rush right now. Next up I'm making the holster - got some stuff from Joann's fabrics - and figuring a good way to tie the mask - also got fabric from there that is kinda see through if you hold it tight to your face. I mean i won't walk in the street with it but its still Con-walkable lol

I'm not sure if it was mentioned in this thread, I saw a couple of posts talking about mask material but I had a google search for more information and found a site that listed all the parts (give or take, they got the gloves wrong for example, but they're pretty close).

They listed this material.

I've bought it and it's arrived. It's good and stretchy and I got a lot of it. You can see through it fairly well and it clings to the scalp nicely. Not that expensive either. Really good stuff.
