I was wondering, is anyone willing to do a commission holster for me, OR just help me out with patterns/instructions on how to make it? I really am stumped and intimidated by it.

Go to Etsy and look for Peachykiki's shop. She also is a RPF contributor and if you go back earlier in this thread, you'll find her. She makes an accurate Babydoll holster...she's making one for me now.

If you can't find her, let me know.

I would highly recommend Peachykiki on etsy (and on here) i just got my holster today made by her and its unreal! worth every penny! Couldnt have asked for a more perfect replica :D x

I NEED HOLSTER HELP!!!

Hey guys, I am about to start on my Babydoll cosplay, and after reading every single post in this thread, I didn't see much on how to make the holster.
I figure I can probably figure out the rest of the outfit, but not that part.

I was wondering, is anyone willing to do a commission holster for me, OR just help me out with patterns/instructions on how to make it? I really am stumped and intimidated by it.

Thanks everyone! :)

For holsters I recommend the Bianchi X16 Agent X Shoulder System. It may be a tinge darker than what was used on film, but making that call depends heavily on the lighting used in the various scenes of the film. You can pick one up here for $96 + shipping here (also where I ordered mine from): Bianchi X16 Agent X Shoulder System (Unlined) - Plain Tan, Left Hand 17253 FREE S&H 17253. Bianchi Concealed Holsters.

For the gun, I recommend the WE 1911 full metal l gas blowback pistol. The frame is 100% metal and the barrel has very limited markings. Since Baby Doll's didn't have a "warning this is not a toy" written on hers, that was a nice feature for me :). It's the closest to the real thing that I could find - if you just do a search on ebay you should come up with a bunch of results, but expect to spend $75-$120+. The finish on these cannot be beat, IMO, and it has a realistic heft and slide/trigger action.

I got my wood grips on ebay for ~$23, shipped from Thailand, and they are perfect. The cherry emblem looked etched to me, so I wanted something other than just a decal on the grip of my gun, I wanted something with a little depth to it. So I sculpted a tiny little cherry emblem from sculpey and made a mold of it. Then I dremeled out a circle for it in the wooden grip so it would recess and be flush with the surface of the grip. Here's a shot of my grips with the cherry emblem:

The cherries are just resin casts from my mold with a coat of silver spray on them.

And here is my gun complete with charms (from etsy) and epilepticsquirl's very amazing decals:

Black paint doesn't stick to the metal surface very well, so I need to do a little touch-up painting to the black on the trigger, but otherwise I am VERY happy with the way it turned out!

this thread gets more and more interesting everyday. I love it.

Hi You mentioned that your colt 1911 in the video was originally black. Which make was it? because I am looking for an all metal that is similar to really show off those decals:love

Thanks for the email confirmation.

You just answered my question. I want that gun. Do you have a link to the site? probably won't be able to get it in the U.K but worth a try. :lol

EDIT: I think I may have found it http://www.airsoftelite.com/airsoft-product.php?prod_id=WE-049

Nice work really looks the part :thumbsup :thumbsup

I ordered a bell GBB in silver. At 32.00 including postage it seemed too good to pass on. :confused

lindseydohaney, I bought those exact same grips for my 1911. :lol only diamond grips I could find with the closest wood tone.

Nice choice Skruffy, for the pistoll too. I've also gone for the WE Tech because the base model is already silver & I think it looks quite good with that tone of color. Yours looks quite close from mine, I'll post it soon once I have epileptic's decals on & I'll add the pics on my album when I'm done with it :)

btw, how did you guys decide on how you were gonna place the 2 flowers at the end of the slide?
I can't seem to find a movie picture with that part of the gun from up-close & its position is different on every replica I saw.

Is anyone interested in a sparkly babydoll headband?
I had made it for myself for everyday wear but its a little to dressy for me, and i know someone out there would probably like it alot more than me, ill get another picture up as soon as i get the black rhinestones on it :) .

Gun charm attachments and shirt pattern

Hey guys, another question:
What did you all use to attach the charms to the gun? They look like some sort of gold cord necklace or something, but I can't really tell. What did you guys use and where did you get it?

Also, can someone link me to a pattern similar to what they used to make the shirt? I have never sewn from a pattern before and am having a hard time knowing what type of pattern would work as a good base for the top. I have not seen anyone describe what type of pattern they used yet, and as I am so inexperienced, I would like to make this as simple as possible.

Thanks for all your help so far you guys, you're the best! :)

ALSO I forgot, what did y'all do for the katana braided strap thing? I know that it is just braided cord or fabric, but how is it attached to the scabbard? In the photos it looks like it is just looped around it twice, but how does the scabbard not just slide right out of the loops?

Sorry I'm so clueless :lol

I had no choice this is the only one I can get imported into the UK That's if I get this it's probably been destroyed at customs :confused

The silver finish can be made similar to the WE with a bit of spray. Talking of spray has anyone ever tried ALCLAD looks pretty good :)

How much were you wanting for it? I think you'd have better luck putting it in the junkyard if you can post there that is. :confused I know Glassfox was looking to do an End Game Baby, I'll ask here if you like? :)

Paul

Hi PredPaul thank you for your reply. probably not an awful lot i spent about $20 making it but its not 100% screen accurate, because when i put the head band on it stretched out inbetween the square gems and the smaller rhinestones, so i had to add more small rhinestones about 12 and then 8 on the outer ends of the headband. but im not to sure what its worth lol, ill have to get a better picture up. that would be cool if you could ask her :)

Thought I was the only one to notice :D

yeah it`s a mixture between this

Sucker_Punch_image-15-399x600.jpg

and this one down here, it`s actually based on this leotard (WHICH, THANKS YOUTUBE QUALITY, NOBODY CAN SEE WHAT I`M TALKING ABOUT) but it`s the one she has in the first dance scene, but without the gloves.

blondie.jpg

so yeah, everybody has their costumes based on their dance choreography... except her ¬¬

Ladies and Gents,
Feast your eyes upon the first white Babydoll
with the actual rhinestone covered thigh highs...

Will post more pics of this Babydoll I made,
and more from Chicago Comic Con when I get them :)

Very nice! Things like the sparkly thigh highs make all the difference in the world! I still need to do my sweet pea costume. ARGH! So many costumes so little time lol!
