Sucker Punch costume thread

Well, this is how my "redoing" charm thing is going. That damn bunny, please. I have no patience for little things, it had a lot of details x_x It still needs to be finished as for the hourglass :)

Well, I've just finished these guys...

I'm pretty happy how they ended up, in comparison with my poor version of the charms last november. But well, there weren't references at all at that time xD.(that's what i say to comfort my self lol)
pd: Trying to fix the wig yesterday, I screwed it up :D So i'm VERY HAPPY :D costed a lot of money and can't find the same. f______ me.

Ordered the fabric and 1911 airsoft pistol to start my wife's baby doll last night. Went with the raw silk noil in "Ink" for the main parts and "Grey" for the sailor collar. Will be useing scrap strips instead of bias tape to do the stripes since it looks like they are exactly the same color as the main color of the opposite piece. Going to start drafting the patterns so I'm ready to go when it gets here. Still having a hard time finding a good sailor fuku pattern though.

You should really look up how to make bias strips. You can make them yourself using that fabric.
Basically you just cut a say 2" line at a 45 degree angle to the grain. The you can press it so the raw edges are underneath.
Its just if you don't do it on the bias it won't lay/stretch the right way. Also cuts on the bias won't fray as much and the silk is going to fray like CRAZY.

Ok guys, I had to join RPF just for this thread!! I read through it all, and I am in total awe at the awesomeness of all the people here!!!

I apologize deeply if I missed it, but I've no gun experience, and I was wondering if Amber's gun was identified!

Gonna watch this thread religiously now ;D Thanks!

That actually is exactly what I planned on doing, I guess I just thought it was called something else. Thanks for the link!

ARGH! Why is the Art Book so expensive? I have been to every bookstore within 50 miles and nobody has it. Online people are selling it for $150! What the heck? My daughter wants to be Baby Doll for Hallowe'en and I am thinking the only way to get the engraving on the gun and sword even close would be to scan and print them from the artbook. But I can't see spending quite that much on one portion of her costume. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I went to Barnes & Noble and the Art Book had a cover price of $35, but was well worn. I talked to the clerk, to see if they would lower the price since it was used and she told me to place an order in the store for express delivery and it would only be $20 and since I was a B&N member, shipping would be free! How could that be?!? But I did it, and everything worked out perfectly. i got the book for just $20, less than what I would pay if I bought it off the shelf.

The suit parts are from the flight suit. The collar is made from the zipper protectors that are on the legs in the inside. the speedl ace I will be putting on the front came off the back.

There was lace on the front that was taken off to put the zipper on. That will go on the back part of the pants under the belt.

Steve,

I sent a personal message with more questions about modifying the hi-alt suit. Hopefully, you can help me get my daughter suited up as Amber.

Thanks, Parks

My fiance told me it's a .45
For some reason, her weapon wasn't listed on the wiki with all their weapon info... maybe it's updated now, though?

Amber's pistol is a 9mm glock 19 2nd generation.

I imagine so, just like babydoll's stunt charms in the same display. All made of rubber, less detail and w/paint chipped away.

Hi everyone, I am new on this site but I wanted to first say I love your costumes and all the information. I am looking to make a babydoll costume myself but I know I am going to need some help with it. So thanks in advance everyone. :)

Has anyone found the sparkling fishnets from babydoll's glitter sailor outfit or have any ideas on how to make them?

What are the Rocket costumers using for Fabric? I'm having a bit of a tough time figuring that out.
