Sucker Punch costume thread

Well, this is how my "redoing" charm thing is going. That damn bunny, please. I have no patience for little things, it had a lot of details x_x It still needs to be finished as for the hourglass :)

I am making that silver round "brand" on Babydoll's gun. I realized a few days ago that it was another one of those tricky little things you don't catch at first. The brand has those cherries again, and seems to be embedded in the wood of the pistol grip. If I get a gun (can't afford a real one) then I probably will dremmel out a space to embed the emblem. I think it would look stupid glued on top. I will leaf it in silver composition metal tonight, and take pics again later.

Yeah, i thought i was the only one noticing that, they are the same cherries of the bunny and the top of the asylum theater.. I'm planning to do it with epoxy paste, paint them silver and stick it to the gun (which is almost finished). What did you use do to them ?

I must say, when I did my costume last year, I didn't imagine I had to change many things .. After the charms and the gun I have to custom the katana. (not the engraved stuff of it, i'll wait to a replica) ffffffffffffffffffffss ¬¬

Hey Soulinertia I couldnt help but notice that these charms are slightly different from the ones on the etsy page. is the oiiseau5's shopyours? If it is which set would i get if i ordered these? And am i crazy for thinking i am seeing different pics of the teddy bear? One with a green button for an eye and one with what looks like a green "X" band aide for an eye.

Oh no, these charms are a completely different set than the seller on etsy. Mine are listed on ebay. I have a thread in the JY as well. My set features real metal chains as opposed to gold fabric cording and do have a durable gloss coating to help protect them. As for the bear, according to the art of book it does have button eyes, one blue and one green. Hope that clears things up!

Great work on your charms as well Cereza! :thumbsup

Thank you so much, I'm flattered :$ I envy your hourglass so much , it's so perfectly symetrical. I did what I could with mine. Got on my nerves, this charms are so tiny x_x
Just painted the cherries over the bunny, I think i went blind, lol.

Yeah, i wish that too. I'm pretty sure the pink charm is a cylinder, the second pic made me sure of it.
Have to wait for the film to make sure of every charm :/// Till then ...
the pink one is a bottle im not sure about the blue thing, you can buy the charms on ebay.

Hey C! Good work on those charms! How tall are they? I can't really get a fix on how tall they SHOULD be porportionately. What kind of clay are you using? It looks smooth. I'm using Sculpy Clay on my cherries brand and my WiseMan cap pin. Seems a little fragile and sometimes, grainy or something. I have never used epoxy paste before...I gotta try it.

I don't see anything wrong with your hourglass! Your bunny looks good - no doubt that thing is killer to make..Its face is so much like a goofy mask on a stuffy! Never seen anything like that in any toy stores. Your bear is awesome...(Dang! Who is that guy...?lol!) Skull looks great. Only thing maybe you could add to would be your baby bottle. Maybe pull your nipple out a little.

Ahem........hahahahaheehee

Just so that you know, I watched the movie a 2nd time today and the entire top is see-through. Not that you couldn't make it without being see-through, but it was clearly a opaque white mesh and you could see the bra clearly underneath.

Also, in the fight scenes the shoes were definately black AND brown like the statue, though you could only clearly tell it in one of the late fight scenes.

What I really found odd though is that at no point in the movie did BD's sword sheath look brown like the screen used pics. It looked like it was very dark brown or black through the entire movie.

Alright. Little Bear, WHY are you on BabyDoll's gun with the other charms? HUH?

So I have a theory for you. After watching the second time I could not find a bear anywhere, but what really stuck me as the bear was in the beginning scene.....her stepfather!

When he reaches through the door and pulls on her pajamas, it cuts to a perspective shot of the button spinning on the floor that tore off, and she slahes her fingernails across his face leaving a scar like on the bears head. I'm not saying that's 100% it, but that really jumped out at me this time through.

There are some really good photos on this thread. I am pretty sure that her outfit is a cream-colored silk. It is see-through in the back but I felt it was doubled in the front, because I didn't really see her bra through the front. I am considering making the outfit, but to start with, I want to do the headband. Those are def sew-on, but I don't think the sparkly outfit is.

Here's what's driving me a little bonkers: I get it that the rhinestones are NOT plain crystal. They are AB (Aurora Bourealis) Finish. But there are also shades of the AB finishes! I just can't afford to go at all those rhinestones with Swarovsky! Gotta find something easier - some kind of iron-on or hotfix or something..... so here are some photos to compare. The last one is Topaz AB finish which is what I think it is....so don't be fooled when you order your stones! It would be a bummer to get them and find that they are not as reflective.....

hmmm. I gotta think about that one....I would almost say, "yeah.." but that darn bear is cute, and um. well, that stepdad is a turd. love the bear, wanna love him more. Hate the stepdad, wanna hate him more. But I love it that you are trying to figure it out, too. I don't like answers handed to me; I like to dig really deep and try to figure out the symbolism. But this one has too many missing elements. His purpose is too incognito.....

Hells yeah! Shoot, knowing this is COTS, I may just buy it instead of spending the time to make my own non-functional one.

Thanks man

I sold knives and swords for 10yrs.....it drives my girl crazy that every movie we see with a blade in it I have to tell her what it is and who made.....It's a sickness...lol

Interesting theory TONKA1675, I like it.

I can see the charms being a progression of her life. Kind of like the scroll work that tells her story on the sword.

baby bottle = birth, complete innocence, all babies are innocent.
bunny = a symbol of her sister, from the stuffed bunny she had, childhood
bear = the transition piece, moving from her childhood innocence into the cruel adult world. Maybe it's supposed to be an old tattered teddy bear, you know how as we get older we hold on to things from our childhood. The stuffed animals get old and start to fall apart. The original eyes fall off. We replace them with buttons and sew them back together, (the scar). Why is one blue and one green? No idea.
hourglass = time is ticking. She has 5 days, she knows her fate.
skull = death. Acceptance of the lobotomy

Do you think Blondie's Heart Tomahawk is custom or off the shelf?

I'm starting to work on my Baby Doll outfit for a con coming up in June, but I can't seem to find any reference pics of the engraving on the katana. I found a few, but it's only pictures of the handle area and then somewhere in the middle of the blade. Does anyone have any pictures of the full engraving?
