Sucker Punch costume thread

Are the sucker punch costumes still on display?

Does anyone know if the sucker punch costumes are still on display at the arclight in Pasadena? I want to head there to look at the fabrics in person but it's over an hour drive and don't want to go if they are not there.

It certainly looks like it cheviot.

and a hat I found online while searching for WWII hats.

Just trying to nail down the right hat. It's a Service Dress Hat and was widely available in WWI. The search continues for the right hat!

Does anyone know which knee pads they used for Blondie or something similar? I've been googling for awhile now and not finding anything.

Here you go Peachy! This was way back on page 7, when moviebuff5 figured out that they were elbow guards and not shin guards.

***edit*** oops, didn't see that you found them already!

Wow that's almost the exact same. Would explain why it's so short as well.

You should go with the silk noil. There's not enough difference in cost between it and denim to make the sacrifice.
Thai Silks - Fabric » Silk Noil » Raw Silk Noil, 45"
That's the stuff right there. You can see the weave pretty clearly in the display pics.

Natkins, Darth Mule posted this about the BD fabric. No one commented on it, so I don't know of that is what everybody is agreeing on or not, but that's the best I've seen so far. I ordered a free catalog to check the colors because I couldn't find a place to pick which samples I wanted, just pre-made sets. My best guess from these colors is Code: 0020-312 Style: Teal Blue. What does everyone else think?

BTW -- did you get any better pics of the BD costume? I didn't see any in your link.

Thanks regardless! I ordered those last night! Now to find a nice looking airsoft and wait for my fabric swatches to arrive. =P
Ohh...costumes they're so addicting.

Okay I'm literally stumped! Does anyone know Blondie's shoulder piece? It goes around her leotard corset thing and it kinda looks like a belt. I just have no idea where to find one that looks similair or make one even.

Also, does anyone wanna see the first 6 minutes of the movie? Go on the Facebook Sucker Punch fan page and they just posted the first 6 minutes of the movie! I'm watched it like 50 times! I need to see the full thing again.

**WARNING**SPOILER**

Yeah, but think about it....SweetPea is who the story is really about. (Even BabyDoll tells her so) I have a further theory: In the beginning, SweetPea is in the lobotomy chair. The Lobotomy is going ON ALL DURING THE MOVIE. That needle is penetrating into SweetPea's brain and as it goes deeper and deeper.... SweetPea's alters (Amber, Rocket, Blondie, BabyDoll) die off, don't they? Needle hits that part of the brain, and they die off. (Symbolism: That racing train getting ready to blow up the city? Looks like that Lobotomy needle racing through her brain. It'll ruin her brain alright...) BabyDoll gives herself up (makes herself go away) to "free" SweetPea. Then, SweetPea finally gets to mentally go home alone - cuz she's the CORE personality, and who's driving the bus? WiseMan (think: Inner Wisdom) Don't we all have that? Some kind of inner wisdom?
I dig that Guy! I am making his Cap Pin: here are some works in progress!

OMG dude, no words <3 perfectly detailed. congratz

Thanks for the heads up on the movie footage!

Here is a partial list of parts I believe were used for the harness:

Attached is a composite of the back of the harness (Thanks for the idea http://www.therpf.com/members/cereza/ Cereza!)

The back portion looks to attach in the center of the gun belt.

Sorry thought they uploaded... I think the hardest costume to shoot there was BD. The case made a lot of my pictures blurry or hard to see. After looking at it in person, i can tell it is not jean... pretty sure its not silk, but without touching i am not 100% sure.

Hey Ms Blondie ~ Here's what you might do: Go to Joann Fabrics or some craft/fabric store in your area. They have faux-leather trim with square and round metal brads that you can buy to make your own belts. It's not leather and I have only seen black, but you can paint it dark brown and age it to make it look more authentic. Then, buy the buckles and glue those suckers together with "Mend It" Which is a leather glue. Or here's what I usually do: go to the thrift shops and look in men's belts..I found one for $3 - real leather, the right color, with antique brass square and round metal accents. Blondie's metal is a kind of old silver, pewtery-looking color of metal - but I'm not worried! I have Silver Rub-n-buff and I can get my brush and thinly smear it on the brads and it looks awesome. Get thin belts and cut 'em up for the shoulder harness-thing. Use an awl to make holes and attach leather brads to the main belts, get extra buckle pieces and hook those up. Long leather fringes can cost a fortune. I have seen coats, skirts and pants in leather smooth and suede - real and fake - at those same thrift shops. Buy them and cut 'em up into strips!!! Attach with leather glue!!

I drew some stuff to map out her leather gear (musta weighed a ton, to wear!) I left out the hatchet holster and the gun holster, til later. I'll share my sketches with you....p.s. that first photo is from the book, and it shows the wide leather-metal-studded has slid over to the back side of her waist, but it really goes in front. It prob shifted back during her acting scenes...

Thanks sooo much! On the color, on the Gentle Giant statue they appear to be black shoes with a dark brown heel and details.
