"studio scale desanto viper"

Back from Portland.

I am a little confused as to what was needed from me. I was under the impression that all that was needed was canopies and guns. That was how I got involved in this project.

The wings, as I understood, were for later runs. I guess I don't know every detail as to what is needed. (Which is fair. This is not my project.)

Work is picking up again so my free time for this is quickly dissapearing. I will do the molds for the wings as soon as I can but I can't guarantee that will be this week.

I really need to get back to my own projects too. Sorry for the confusion guys. We'll see what I can do this week.

Coby, I'm sorry if there is a misunderstanding.
I will try and call you quickly. B)

I got your email. I'll be working on the wings today and tomorrow. My boss comes back to work today so I don't know what the workday is going to be like yet.

Thank You Coby.
I'm sorry again if you and I got our wires crossed.
We had to much to talk about in all of our conversations. :D

Ahhh..yes... I had a feeling there was some confusion on this....kewl... thanks guys. ;)

I was hoping to get the 4 kits before I travel overseas again on the 19th. Do you think that is possible guys? I don't want to rush art, but it would be a great thing for me to have them before that time if it can be done.

No pressure or nothin. LOL... ;)

On a serious and dark note... :(

While I am excited that these are finally coming :thumbsup ,.. I AM NOBODY'S "BOY" :angry and will never accept being referred to as that again. As is somewhat known, I quickly scan through posts and and sometimes miss things and was asked about it today, thus this response. I will always rule my own roost and I will assist in the hopes that this kit gets to me soon. So, friendly or not, no more of that please. :rolleyes

And back to the positive lighter note... :)

Thank you again Coby for stepping up to the plate for Michael and all of us on his order list. Very Kewl. B)

Michael,.. there are many great possibilities out on the horizon for you and Terri,.. and this kit is a great start, especially since Tom DeSanto seems to be backing your projects with his name and image. Is he going to pay you when his continuation story comes to fruition for doing all this P.R.? Or is being able to sell the kit his payment? With a name like DeSanto in your corner, there should be much in your and Terri's future. So I say "CONGRATULATIONS" to you and Terri. :thumbsup :love :thumbsup

I am looking forward to getting these puppies. :D

Thanks for the update Mike. I like the colors for the pilot too.

Indeed,.. the pilot update and paint tutorial is very kewl. Nicely done Michael. :thumbsup

I like the blue stripe on the sleeve for blue squadron. This is the DeSanto design, eh? It is very nice. Are you able to show a pic of the DeSanto Colonial Warrior uniform artwork aside from the painted model figure?

Thats what I thought as well. :unsure

Thanks Coby for helping out. Canot wait to finally recieve this kit.

How's it going today Michael? :confused Ready to ship yet? :confused :p

I had read over at the Fleets that you are getting ready to ship and are talking about possible box art and such...

Personaly, because I can't speak for all, I believe the use of box art is only good for those companies of mass production and shelf sales and I certainly don't require that from you for my kits. This would save you much time and effort if all who pre paid agree with me who have ordered. Nor do I need an instruction sheet since you mastered a kit that appears to be straight forward in parts and very apparent on how it goes together. :thumbsup Plus the online tutorial post you've suggested doing will be far advanced from an instuction sheet anyway. All I require are all the kit parts in a box shipped..lol. After all,.. they will not be in those boxes for long. :lol

Anyway,.. I can't speak for everyone, but for me the extra stuff is just not necessary for this piece,.. maybe on your next one though. I just require the kit parts in a box. :) I think others may feel the same and hope they chime in with agreement.

I'm still excited. :p

:) Hello Everyone... This is Terri. I was too lazy to log Michael out and log back in as Protector.

We're on our way to the post office to mail these viper parts to Coby (thank you Coby)... I am insuring this package for $500. Maybe the post office will be extra careful with it. I consider these parts to be extremely valuable, especially after all that's happened.

I have noticed that most people believe we waited too long to find the lost package, and I would probably feel the same way if I hadn't had the opportunity to see the situation from the inside... Making the cannons and the canopy is probably a lot more work than most people realize. Michael has to go through about a million greeblies to find the right stuff, and the work is tedious. He has to use a magnifying glass and tweezers. For the canopy, all the angles have to be just right, and it is not easy. He made lots of canopies before he got it right. (If he got paid by the hour for this project, he'd be a rich man by now.)

Then there is the work that Gordon did... making the molds and casting the parts. The amount of work this takes (and the mess and pain in the butt factor) was beyond anything I could comprehend until actually doing it myself. No wonder he hates making molds. I hate it too............. I thought it would be right up my alley since I'm a chemist, but I have never had to work with anything so messy in my life. It is impossible to not make a huge mess when making molds. The small ones are the worst b/c the material is so thick that it is hard to pour. Gordon helped us with ideas to make molding easier, but it still wasn't easy. So I can totally understand that Gordon was hopeful that the package would be found after all the work he did. Besides, the post office was assuring him that it would turn up.

And once this matter is settled, I'm sure that damn package will arrive. They say the best way to find something lost is to get a replacement.

OK, away we go to the post office. Thank you to everybody for being so nice about this.

Terri

THANK YOU TERRI... I appreciate that you "got my six" as they say on STARGATE.

I, like the rest of y'all, am very happy to see the progress on the kit. Good work, Coby.

It's time to drive a stake through the heart of this vampire. Go for it, guys.

-Gordon

I wouldn't worry too much about box art, I don't think people require it from you, that'll free up some work you'd have to do. In fact you could go to a grocery store and send the kits in a box that says, "Del Monte service pack french cut green beans 12oz cans" and they'd be estatic, I know I would, now that's class.

No box art......post instructions online.....save time...and gets the ships out faster.

Call this the no frills version... :)

The sooner they ship they happier....and I speak for me.....the faster I will be happier ..

I mean I have a 50% clean workbench just waiting for this. Help me resist the temptation to start another project before this one...

The day has finally arrived. B)

As a matter of FACT, just m9inutes now behind my last post, the resin was delivered by UPS to my door, and this weekend is going to be a casting weekend. I NOW CAN FINISH :p driving a stake through this vampires heart as Gordon would say.
