As a matter of FACT, just m9inutes now behind my last post, the resin was delivered by UPS to my door, and this weekend is going to be a casting weekend. I NOW CAN FINISH :p driving a stake through this vampires heart as Gordon would say.
It's over. :D

Jeesh. What took you so long? :lol :lol :lol :lol

In the mad dash to the finish line, Mr. Miles, I would be remiss in my duty if you weren't reminded to OBSERVE ALL SAFETY AND MATERIALS PRECAUTIONS in casting.

I don't care if I get my kit any sooner because you've damaged yourself it it's making. So don't.

BE SAFE. BE SANE (at least while you're doing THIS).

The last I heard from Mike was he was casting wings. He must be busy at it because no one has heard from him since.

I was under the impression that these things were ready to go except for the parts that you were doing. Sorry, I guess I don't understand the process. :confused Or where you making him new masters for him to cast?
Just curious is all.

Chris

Just got a call from Mike. He's without internet that's one reason for a lack of updates. The other reason is he's been casting like a madman as well as putting the instruction sheets together. Kits will ship this week.

I have returned from my two weeks in Russia and I am sorry to say that I have nothing positive in front of me regarding this project. I always dislike having to become the 'ARSE' in any matter, but sometimes it is required to light a fire where it seems to be needed.

This is not my normal pleasant entry...

I have always been as positive as I could be regarding this project,...but.... it is now time to put this to bed.

When I left on my trip, it seemed these DeSanto Vipers were going to ship THAT week being that Coby casted the parts needed to complete the kits. I was (once again) excitedly expecting my 4 kits to be waiting for me at my home when I returned. They're not here. So,.. what's the deal on these now? Have they in fact shipped this week being that it has been 7 days (1 week) since it was stated that Michael called Coby and stated to him they were going to ship?

I am affraid I have reached the end of my rope on this project and I am in the belief that I should consider getting my money back and use it for something that IS productive UNTIL this DeSanto project CAN be ready to fly. Instruction sheets sound great and all, but considering ALL the MANY failed promises of delivery, ALL the poor explainations of delays made in the past year, AND looking at the pics of a readied kit,... it seems to be a waste of time being that it is a straight forward build and thus not really necessary at this point. Michael can and probably has covered the paint scheme on the Fleets leaving nothing in question for any model builder's curiousity or lack of knowledge.

Michael,.. your obvious and stated talent exceeds what progress you have made, so I am puzzled as to why you are taking so long. You once told me you didn't understand or like the folks who took more than a few months to get out a kit and that you could absolutely do one in a few weeks. You have become what you stated you didn't like. It has almost been a full year... Too may promises and too little action.

So,.. I will ask one LAST time,... WHAT IS THE DEAL ON THIS? The endless delays have become a conversational passing joke,... and a bad one at that. You're better than this. Don't fall into the non-productive pit that so many often do. It's damaging what reputation you still have. Your reputation can only improve with the shipping of these kits and yet still you delay. I know your talent,... there is no reason for this taking so long.

Being that there is really no logical reason for this I will take no more time to discuss things any longer. From one street-bred guy to another,... what's it going to be? The 4 kits at my door this week?... or.... the full money back to me (this week) that has already been paid to you?

Of course if they have shipped, then none of this matters and all is still well. With the current track record... I find that doubtful.

I am done with this....simply done. I have the distinct feeling that others feel the same way, but will not speak for them. They can do that for themselves.

Michael and Terri...it's time to make this happen....or stop stating that it will.

NO MORE WORDS OR EGO STROKING PLEASE.... ACTION ONLY...

I am challenging you to prove to the world what you have been boasting about for a year. You have the talent..... MAKE IT HAPPEN..

Ego stroking? Kurt you're wrong for that. And you should call and ask us before you go placing your foot in your mouth, like you just did. It just gained you some negative attention.
Anyone else can call if they need to know anything, please don't take Kurt's route, it only leads to bad feelings. Vipers are being shipped Monday. Kurt may have to wait a while until I can get around to his. :D

Michael,.. I sincerely hope that you are right and I am wrong and that you actually ship on Monday. That would be a wonderful thing...not only for those of us that have paid orders, but for you and Terri as well. It would mark a day of celebration for the successful completion of your DeSanto Viper project...and that, Michael,.. is well worth tasting a foot in my mouth. Wouldn't you agree?

As I stated... the talent that you have is not reflecting in the time this has taken you to complete and I am certain you will agree with that as well. Anything less stated would be taken as you not having the talent,... and we both know that is just not true. You have talent in abundance,.. it just comes in your own time and on your own schedule which is not acceptable in most business practice,.. especially mine.

I will tell you what... (I think you'll enjoy this)...if you ship my 4 Vipers to me on Monday, 10/9/06, and provide a valid tracking number for that shipment,.. You and Terri will recieve a formal world-wide public apology (with praise) from me to you right here on the RPF that everyone can view and be pointed toward to read. That alone has got to be worth it for you to get those kits shipped as I can think of nothing better between honorable men.

My excitement still exists to recieve these kits,.. and yet equal to that is my frustration with this project. I am sure you feel the same way since we have a similar background. The weight of this project has gotten heavy for us all and it will be nice to feel light again.

Almost a year...duuuuude... that is a looooong time.

To Monday then... cheers to us all.

I'm one of those nosey people who should keep his mouth shut, and never does....so Ill be brief. (or as brief as I can be)

I didn't buy a Desanto Viper(yet), but lots of my friends did, and I love the design. I consider Coby a friend, Kurt a friend, JV, JP, Dobber, and many others involved with this.

On the building side Michael called me early on in his projectand I did my best to offer advice, information, and insight. He cares about this project and Terri seems very nice also. I understand more then most, what Michael is likely going through to get this kit out the door....the last steps can be the hardest...and sometimes it simply takes a lot longer then it should. You fully intend to come through...and in the light of the day it all should work...yet sometimes it just doesn't. This is Michaels first resin casting project, and I'm impressed he has made it this far. This stuff is not easy, and he is learning as he goes. Ive done what hes doing...I think I get where he is at.

I also know what Kurts going through...he's spent a lot of money...probably more then anyone, on this and other kits. He doesn't want to be left in the dark, taken advantage of, or be ill treated. He also doesn't want to be a jerk...he just wants what he paid for. I would guess he also feels a bit responsible for the furvor here and doesn't want to see others frustrated. Ive been there too...I sent $3000 to Japan and waited over a year for a 2 week transaction...I think I get where Kurt is at

So...whats my point? Well, Ive been on both sides and:

Michael, I helped you once, and I hope thats worth something to you. All I ask in return is you come through. Send Kurt, and these people their kits. If you can't on Monday let them know when you can and get it done. You need to accept Kurts frustration...you'd feel the same way in his shoes. You had to read his note and be steamed...but you also should get why he's frustrated. Don't play games this late in the day...just get it done...I know you can.

Kurt, don't post messages like that last one. You had to know it would only anger and offend Michael. Use that style of posting only when all other means fail and your only recourse is to attack. You have every right to be frustrated, but stepping up to the podium is not the best way to solve your problem.

This is my advice to both of you. If I have offended either of you, my apologies. I recognize I'm butting in, but it's my hope that the common ground I share with both sides will help cooler heads prevail.

Cheers all. :)

Thanks for the input Jesse.

I have a feeling and hope that Michael and I will sort out our differences with Monday's shipping.

I agree that my frustrations are showing in a huge way and believe that it is synonymous among both Michael and I with this project. His on the side of making it and mine on the side of already paying for it. I can only imagine what frustrations he and Terri have been faced with in getting these completed, so in that respect, YES I am in error. On the other hand, all of us have had delivery promises several times before in the past year that have not come through,.. thus my frustration post. I believe he and I understand each other more than most would care to know and I believe it possible that we may work it out. One of my flaws is a lack of patience for stated delivery times. One of Michaels flaws is lack of follow through to achieve a stated delivery time (an artists life so to speak). Thus our clash at the moment. WE ARE BOTH WRONG AND BOTH RIGHT...and ... we both understand each other. The funny thing is that we can both help each other's ventures if we really wanted to, but that does require being on the same page of the book. Being that we have two different styles of business manner, it is more difficult for he and I to see eye to eye on this matter. I have strict business guidelines for myself of delivery (which work very well) that I have let slide for this project in order to see it's successful completion. If this were a corporate project, it simply would no longer exist. Unfortunately...and fortunately, this is the world where my mind set and expertise lay. His mind set lays in the artist and creative world. TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WORLDS that I am attempting to fuse together,.. which is not an easy prospect.

I stand by my words and will formally apologize if he ships my 4 Vipers to me this coming Monday with the rest he stated he will ship. If we can get past this time period, then maybe our futures will hold some kewl stuff to come. I see nothing except positive stuff happening if he can achieve delivery. HE HAS TALENT AND MUST GET IT OUT INTO THE WORLD FOR PEOPLE TO VIEW IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY DO MORE. I just wish to see that happen as well as add these to the collection.

I will be waiting... and Monday will tell. My excitement still exists.

Thanks again for your input Jesse. I do appreciate it and I believe Michael probably does too.

Thanks a million Jesse. That means alot, and Terri said "Thank You" also. We appreciate that you truly understand where we are at.
We would have had the kits out last week, only the small problem was I suddenly became ill with a high fever and was laid up in bed for a few days. Then around the second day that I was sick, I got an early morning call that Terri had been in a motorcycle wreck, and tried to swerve to miss being hit by an SUV, and ended up laying her bike over and rolling on the asphalt, consequently injuring her legs and arms. No injury to her head thank god. But she is recovering and should be back to work on Mon.
We don't want an apology from Kurt, We have more pride than that. We'll just get to him when we can. Soon, I hope. :D
Thanks Again all. B)

Duuude.... Terri was in an motorcycle accident? How is she doing? Please tell her I am concerned and wish her well. She is quite a lady.

I still stand by my word with the apology. I know about pride and honor and will come through.

All will be well... I just want your work out in the world and especially in my hands.

I am still planning to have a review written during the build,.. which should be a good thing.

Nice "arse"by the way...lol. ;)
