"studio scale desanto viper"

Need to ask a question....Does anyone know if soaking a resin model body in pine-sol to remove a bad paint job will harm the resin?
Is it okay to do that? Need quick advice.
And how it coming along Coby? :D

I use "Castrol Super Clean" but it will also remove any puttying you may have done.
I've heard that Brake Fluid works, Bleach, and oven cleaner.
Hope that helps with the resin question.

Ive always heard that brake fluid, pine sol, and other methods that remove paint can over time decrease the integrity of the plastic. Not sure how long you have or how much the impact, just what I have heard.

I always use lacquer thinner on resin kits. But I don't mind the smell. It sure works faster than any other method.

I have 18 sets of parts ready. I am going to round them out to 20 sets and send them out tomorrow.

DUUUUUUDE.. Thank you, Coby, for assisting Michael and Terri..

I can't wait to be able to see and show off this piece. :D

My anticipating of arrival "drool factor" is at a 10 right now guys. I can't wait for these to get here... It has been a loooong road for all involved and this is GREAT NEWS... :p

Michael, if you don't object, I will have a non-biased kit build-up appraisal done on mine after the 4 discussed kits arrive,... just like is being done the the Salzo "Hero" X-wing. What do you think? I have someone ready to go as I write this so it would be relatively quick and provide an honest kit opinion with build up suggestion for all.

After you've delivered the DeSanto Vipers to everyone that ordered, are you able to share info of what may be next from the creative DeSanto arsenal that has been started here? Or are you going to continue the work in SS modeling? I ask this because I know you are quite the sculptor and artist and realize the possibility of losing interest in doing this type of project during the learning curve of a this specific "first" project.

It would seem we are on the same learning schedule. LOL. I know I have learned much in just the past year regarding this biz. LOL... I can only imagine that you have as well. ;)

The great thing for all is that we never stop learning, getting more knowledge with every action and moment. Neat....

... and Kewl....

I am excited about getting these dude. :p

Very cool :D
Make sure the address is correct, we don't need a repeat performance of the last shipment. :cry
I'm not saying anyone was at fault, just want to make sure everyone is happy in the end.

I am going to send just the castings first. Once those arrive I'll pack up the patterns and molds.

Just in case.

All pre-orders that were made 1st, and in correct order will be fulfilled and then all other will be taken care of.
We still need to discuss the other "things" first Kurt. I've not spoken to you in a while. B)

Why can't they all go out at the same time?

Good question.
[/b][/quote]
I had a very good phone conversation with Michael yesterday and he seemed extremely eager to get this project and the orders (including mine) finalized,... but... that is still a good question that Michael may wish to answer himself.

I will continue to have my fingers crossed until all 4 arrive safely in my hands . ;) It's looking real good in my opinion.

I think EVERYONE,... including Michael and Terri, will feel a great relief when ALL orders have fully been fulfilled. B)

As always... hopes are high and my excitement continues. :p

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention...

Per Michael and mine conversation yesterday, there will be a build-up and kit review soon after the kits arrive,.. so stay tuned. :p I have the builder standing by.

Smile people. Things are looking up. :D

Also,... I want to thank Coby once again for his assistance in the parts needed in order for Michael to be able to get the complete kits shipped. So,... THANKS COBY... :p

Thanks for the recap Kurt :D I too am really looking forward to getting one of these beauties.
All though I think I was the last one to get in on the preorder :p But Ithinkthe timing will work out just right because I should be done or just about done my Gunstar by the time this kit would arrive :)

Thanks again to all involved. Keeping the dream alive...

Chris
