I managed to get hold of a vintage T-800 Skull kit that had metal pistons. So I now have a 100% screen accurate piston set up.

I wish it was a typo, would be easier to work on lol.
Pewter is very dense, it’s over a litre and a half of metal if I remember correctly.
Around £600 worth of pewter in the skull alone. Was a pain to poor, I messed up the first attempt.

That does sound a lot but it's kind of around what I was expecting for solid pewter. Must seem incredibly heavy to hold in the palm of your hand. That's around 13x what my aluminium skull weighs.

Really nice detail on the castings! I think the small amount of porosity improves it, you can really see it's metal, not chromed plastic.

Yeah the first skull I made was vinyl. I had It vacuum metalized. It doesn’t look metal anymore compared next to the real metal one.

Yeah it’s a beast. I would have preferred casting in aluminium. But that requires a lot more tools. You have to hold it with both hands, it’s difficult to hold one handed.

More polishing on the skull, this time the left side. Just one full polish over the whole skull after I engrave some lines in a little deeper. Then I can weather it all.
