Old Terminator; New Display

I finished my Planet Hollywood inspired T2 T-800 life-sized action figure a few years ago, and have posted previous threads (forgive me for covering old ground).

I have the figure back in my possession, and have added to it...

The endo-arm in the following pics is the model in the special edition 4K DVD release.

It is really nice...

Physically, it is spot on - shape, size, and proportions. I have the Sideshow version from ten or so years back, and physically this is a true duplicate.

Unlike the related DVD endo skull, (clown-faced Terminator?) this is close to spot on. For under three bills, highly recommended.

The chrome is dark - roughly half-way between true chrome and "black chrome".

The base is small, simple, yet effectively elegant.

The overall display is very lightweight, which (optimistic view) makes it easier to display.

MY display is meant to EMULATE (not replicate) the swing arm at Cyberdyne. It is simply silver-painted plumbing pipe, with some f^%ing thing (Home Depot find) for the final platform. I ran blue LEDs through the pipes and base and voila.

Question, guys...

I've always disliked the weathering I did on the right thigh of the pants; just not organic

Also, the leather is a lower grade, has a more matte sheen, and is a deep charcoal grey.

So...

To correct: Satin black spray paint? Or black shoe polish?

You can see in these two pics what I'm referring to:
--Lazy, unnatural weathering
--Cheaper grade leather with a more grey tone
