And completed, some T-track from the local hobby store bronze paint black wash for weathering and double strip tape.

Been learning FreeCAD to create a fully removable chassis for my kids' lightsabers. They were originally installed with a jury rigged sled with built in battery and Verso boards, but this is going to be some Rolls Royce ****.

Part of the hurdle is making use of the massive 16mm switch hole. I ground down a large washer to fit, and came up with an actuator design, with a spring system in the prototype. It will work a red button tactile switch on the chassis. The final one will be spray painted.

There's also a small recharge port hole on the hilt, which will have a clear cabochon dome with sanded bottom to shine a nano pixel through, Proffieboard, and removable battery. The chassis is finished and waiting for 3D print prototyping.

…the grips are plastic C channel…
This is great!! Any chance you recall the exact size/brand/profile of the c channel? Also, some use really flimsy plastic, and I don’t want to make sure I use something nice and rigid. I had a similar thought, but haven’t found any in person that is quite what I’m looking for. I haven’t ordered online yet as I don’t want to end up getting flimsy stuff in the mail.

I don't remember where I got the channel. I did a Google search for C channel and found it. I will try and get some dimensions for you this weekend.

I saw your post in r/lightsabers earlier today, it was beautiful

My personal favorite is the two bottom-middle ones
Thank you very much! The first of two you mentioned are the crystal reveal chamber that I did from scratch. The kyber crystal in it is actually an amethyst from a keychain.

The second of the two is my braced thin neck build. I put a brace behind the thin neck to improve grip options and because it's visually interesting. My favorite part is how the pommel came out. That's a lot of careful wire brush and sand paper stripping along with a cut and reshape of a left over part of a grip shroud to become the pop of color insert.

The channel is 0.270" wide at the base, 0.225" thick, that's measuring from the base to the top of each edge, and the wall thickness is 0.040". I believe it came in 36" long pieces.

Hey all, I just joined 10 mins ago but here is my latest toy is the Korbanth ROTS-Flex v2 installed by Tierfon Orbital. This is a pic of the brass hybrid chassis he created for me. Next we are working on an SK (Graflex 2.0) with master hybrid chassis.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy/print Shtok’s CC Inserts now that Shapeways is gone?

I did talk to Dimitri this morning and he is getting prices to do the printing for me. I’m also in talks with Phil Ginnis who will do his magic and create something similar for me as well. I have to talk to the installer I go through for literally every single project, Tim (Tierfon Orbital) And he directed me over to Craftcloud. So I guess I have a few options now for whenever I decide to make this 2.0 into something.

Does anybody know where to get the Graflex 2.0 conversion SK lower/brass grips?

Thanks everybody.
