SDCC08 - Dr WHO Replicas!

MFX heard us when we told them what we wanted most and they came through for us. Even at the price we're paying for a sonic, I feel that Neill is only making enough to cover the cost of making them, (Cost of materials and to pay the machinists) and is not taking much profit for himself. I also believe he deserves some profit for it. He truly is making them for us!

Thank you again, Neill!

hear, hear

So, here we are, late in September, with the days rolling by. Our Sonic Screwdrivers should be shipping out anytime now! I can't wait!!! :)

I sent them an email last when when I noticed my order did not have my state listed on it. So I sent it to them. They replied and said that they feel they are on track for a 28th shipping date. They use FedEx and will send the tracking info when it ships.

I'm so STINKING excited! :love:eek:$:love

Just got this from MFX:

Dear valued customer

This is to inform you that there has been a very minor delay in the completion of your sonic screwdriver. A component supplier has delivered incorrectly and a replacement order is being rushed to us as I write. The upshot of this is that there will be a few days delay in the timing of dispatch. The new date for dispatch to begin is now Monday the 5th of October.

I received the same email just a few minutes after you posted this. Still, at least it's not that much of a delay. We'll still have them in October. :cool:thumbsup

Yeah, that's not much of a delay.

what's going to be a killer is when we get the shipping emails and the wait until the sonics reach our door. To me, that's the longest and most anxious waiting period (aside from knowing the item is sitting at your door and you're stuck at work/school/anywhere else).

Here was my reply to them!

An upshot is usually good news, not a delay! You know, something like, "Bad news is that our supplier is late, so shipping will be held off a week, the UPSHOT is that he has given us a discount since he didn't deliver on time and we will be passing the discount on to you!" Now THAT'S an upshot! This is bad news indeed as we have already waited a year for it. I was hoping to be HOLDING this by October 5th! This is very disappointing, but what can I do really except wait?

I'm just so ready to HAVE this thing!

What irritates me is I pay $444.00 UP FRONT two and a half months early....and the delivery date gets pushed back! You mean, they were not aware several WEEKS ago they NEEDED a part? My guess is they simply haven't finished them yet and the "Waiting on a part" is just the stand by response...
Still excited for it, which is what gives me this frustration! :unsure

One weeks's nothing - I've had longer delays waiting for trains. :lol

Seriously, with the U.K. postal system in the state it is at the moment with the strikes there's a possibility, although slim, that some non - U.K. members will get theirs first.
I posted a letter to my wife (yeah, we're living in the same house) from my little girl at the post box just three minutes walk from my house.
It took two and a half weeks to get back to us, the first class stamp on the envelope cancelled the day before. So basically it sat around for seventeen days or so before it was processed.
I do know Royal Mail like to ship out non - U.K. mail as quickly as possible...
