DR Who-Sonic Design Competition (winners announced)

I'd say for the next contest like this maybe only one person gets sent the images and that same person posts them to the contest forum without any names attached. That way to the rest of the people it's as anonymous as possible. Ideally a way to bar people from then commenting 'that ones mine!' would be helpful too.

We sometimes do contests like this, particularly if the membership is voting on them. However with a judged contest it's not as big a deal and having it open gets people more involved in the process.

Ideally as well judges wouldn't have access to the topic area until the submission end date passes. So they all see everything with a new set of eyes at the same time.

Two of the three judges only checked the thread once I contacted them for their picks. The third was very active here. I don't think that any of them were swayed by when any given sonic was posted. Not a bad point though, something to think about.

Thanks! Here are the picks I made, I ignored the names of who posted them until I had the images in an order:

There were 8 designs that really screamed "original sonic screwdriver design" at me. The hard part was putting them in an order that would end up eliminating three from the running. Despite that here are my votes in order and the points they get.

1 point for Muldwych

The three that I also like but didn't make the top five are tullfan81, cephalopodprods and Organic Mechanic.

I looked all over and had just about given up, but I found my printout. The print itself needs some work, but the real issue was size. As you can see from the picture, this is just too small. Not really sure on the colors, but it looks like I got bored and started in on it a little.

Don't get bored with it, I love this sonicm as I said beforen really looks as tho it could have grown in 9/10th Dr TARDIS. Try it in Coral & silver metal. Or maybe bone colour as that what it always looked like to me. Rather than just an end lightn I wonder if a light could also be added to the inside to add to a translusent effect. I love this Sonic!

I know waiting is always the hardest part but I'd rather wait for Rassilon to finish making last year's winner before we start things up again to have a winner this year.
