SDCC08 - Dr WHO Replicas!

Only 179 left. :lol
You're forgetting about the people that ordered 2 or more and only got 1 order number! ;)

Speaking of... I REALLY wish I had enough funds on-hand to be able to do what NakedMoleRat mentioned... buy 5 or 6, sit on them awhile so they can appreciate in value, then put 'em up on the Bay! :love

As it is, I'm lucky to be able to afford one right now. I can't justify even buying a second one right now, money's too tight. :unsure

I'm going to put a bunch of stuff in the junkyard over the next couple weeks and if I can sell $430 worth of stuff and one of these is still left I'll bite the bullet and order one. It'll make me cringe, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

I really wish I could afford two. One to keep in pristine condition and the other for my pocket! As it is, I'll have to just settle for the one in my pocket! :lol

Well, one thing's for certain...

that will allow you to "age" and "weather" it to more closely match the original filming prop that was loaned to MFX for them to work from! ;)

Yeah, and you'll probably have to re-apply that crackle paint every few months, since MFX says it's not so sturdy.

I can see you pulling it out, pointing it at someone and going "WhEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" in a "pew pew" laser gun fashion. :lol:lol:lol

That would only happen if I were to do a Tennant impersonation. ("I hate guns but I'll sonic you to death with my screwdriver!") and wielding it like a mini sword.
As it turns out I like Eccleston MUCH MUCH MUCH better! He was cool. He used his sonic for what it was meant for. Opening doors, fixing barbed wire, resonating concrete and undoing bra straps! :lol

Don't know if they've been posted elsewhere, but they showed off the Master's laser screwdriver and ring at SDCC09:

Looks like it's going to be an expensive year...

Apologies, they turned up on a Doctor Who forum purporting to be new...
No, I posted them there CLEARLY LABELLED as being pictures from LAST YEAR'S SDCC... and they were already posted in THIS thread, that's where I got them from in the first place. YOU just didn't pay enough attention!

So you did! Don't I look silly now!

:$

Still, nice to see them again, eh?

Yep! :)

But who knows when or even IF they'll be offered. The Master's Ring can be had now from... another source, but it may not be quite as accurate, since MFX has access to the original filming prop, and the price it's being sold for is more than what MFX wants to charge for theirs (£90 from the unlicensed source, as opposed to £80 or less from MFX.)

I put out the money for the sonic screwdriver, but I would not pay the same or more for a Master's laser screwdriver. I'm just not that much into the prop. The most I would pay US for it is $150.00, and that would only be if I had the expendable funds at the time.

MFX heard us when we told them what we wanted most and they came through for us. Even at the price we're paying for a sonic, I feel that Neill is only making enough to cover the cost of making them, (Cost of materials and to pay the machinists) and is not taking much profit for himself. I also believe he deserves some profit for it. He truly is making them for us!

Thank you again, Neill!
