SDCC08 - Dr WHO Replicas!

Thanks to all those who have purchased a sonic and thank you for your patience in waiting for these replicas. They're not quite sold out yet but demand has been very high.

FYI I don't manage the shopping cart on our website but the way I understand it is that an order still listed as pending on the website sometimes takes a little time to be switched to confirmed from pending as this is a manual process that just one person is handling. It's going to take a few days for the several hundred orders to be processed and the status on the website to be updated.

If there are any orders that do have problems with clearance of funds then we do contact you to discuss alternatives, and your order is held until we do, so no one is going to lose out due to a hiccup or error with their bank that can subsequently be rectified.

Best wishes
Neill

I guess I am late on this, but what is the website to order these? Can't afford one but curious as to what it looks like. thanks

I'm sure they'll be sold out soon, and you can be sure that I'm excited to receive mine in October (even though my wallet hates me right now). Thanks for working so hard to get these to us!

This may have been answered somewhere but I have not seen any photos. Does anyone know if the head on this tilts on the ball like the hero unit from the show does? It looks like it but I have not seen any photos like that.

I have never sen the tilt except in the concept drawings. But, considering the writup on this piece, if the screen used sonic has that ability, then th MFX one should as well ...

The screen used one is fixed, only the concept drawings had the swivel feature. The prop never did.

Hi Guys

The heads don't tilt on the replica as the hero prop doesn't tilt either. That was only ever shown on a concept drawing and has never been a feature of any of the actual props.

On another note I've had a couple of order queries sent to me as PM's on this forum as people are concerned they've not had replies to queries form our info@ address yet.

As you can imagine we had an enormous amount of orders to process and at the end of last week as well as a ton of telephone orders to process placed when the website got overloaded and the and the guys in the office are working through them all as fast as they can. In addition there are many people who have queries about their orders and want to change certain info such as delivery addresses. Please be assured all of these queries will be dealt with in time. Obviously no one is going to get a reply on a Saturday or Sunday as my staff are allowed time off (I'd rather they were chained to their desks 24/7 but laws is laws!:lol). Anyhow, just to say that sending PM's with queries to me is probably a much slower route as I'm actually a couple of hundred miles away form the office filming at the moment which means I'm out of the loop during office hours so then the only way those queries get dealt with is if I pass them on via email which puts them in the same boat as you!

AND the majority have sold but there are still some sonics left but the orders are still coming in steadily. The rate they're going we will sell out but probably not for a few weeks yet.

Best wishes
Neill

Awesome news! means I'm still in with a chance while I get the cash together...

I could have sworn I saw it tilt but now that you mention it, I do not remember ever seeing that in an episode. I must have been thinking about the concept drawing. :rolleyes

Now I'm feeling at ease. Just logged into the MFX site, order says confirmed and my credit card was charged! I'll have it paid off before the sonic ships, then when it gets here, stick it in my pocket and head out for Sushi and Starbucks! :lol

I'm curious, is anyone else on Comcast and unable to receive temp passwords from their site? I am unable to use the password recovery option. I'm thinking that it's due to Comcast blocking their mail from the website itself as SPAM, but it'd be useful if I could get someone else using Comcast to verify this.

Sorry, Mate. Can't offer any suggestions there, but...how's your K9 coming along?

Well, after thinking it over for what seems like forever... and after a change in my long-term plans freed up some money over the weekend... I decided to go ahead and order the sonic screwdriver tonight. While I HATE the price (apparently the exchange rate has just changed AGAIN and it will now cost about $434.00 US for those of us here in the States!) I had to do it. I knew that if I didn't get one while it's offered, I might never be able to get a replica of this sonic AT ALL. It seems that the run that was planned by the Celestial Toystore has become stalled indefinitely, and your guess is as good as mine in regards to how accurate his replicas will be, anyway. This way, I get one that's as accurate as can be! :D

It also helps that thanks to this very forum, I found a way to get one of the best available replicas of Tom Baker's Sonic Screwdriver for only $84.00, when it normally goes for more like $225-250, so the money saved on that one makes up for the extra spent on Tennant's Sonic! :D

Anyway... my order number is 321, and since I have a pretty good digital camera, once it arrives I'll be sure to take a bunch of really good closeup photos of it to show off for everybody! :D
