Rey's Blaster - All Metal Build With Videos - S2Jesse

Couple more parts done. Top round section milled. Making a few at once since it seemed there was some interest for them.

This thing is looking great! Can't wait to see this finished. Just out of curiosity if you decided to do a small run how much would these be?

Just in case you hadn't noticed, it looks like there are 7 holes in the screen used prop barrel.
Can I get one of those from you, its sterling work.

I could be wrong !!

I think I may be wrong having looked at some other images, I think the 8th hole is hidden in the shot by the barrel weathering which looks like it is farther down the barrel than the still shots, I would say it is a different gun than the ones featured in many still which have been released.

Ohh interesting good find! Sure looks like 7 in that shot.) The more i look at the pic you posted it looks like they are all in the right spot but the closest hole is missing or covered up. I have noticed differences between the Disney display and the trading card shot as well. As with every prop, there seems to be several variations. I def want this as accurate as possible!

This one has 8 also tho. Maybe I'll make 2 barrels just to be safe :)

Definitely 2 guns there. In the image with 8 holes, the last hole on the flash hider (closest to the gun body) is about the same distance down the flash hider as the screw on the body is from the front edge of the main body.
But in the 7 hole version, the first hole on the flash hider (near the main body) is a lot farther from the rear edge of the flash hider in relation to the screw on the body.
Im modelling my own at the moment, and its insane how many details there are on this gun which first go unnoticed.
Did you model yours to use the mauser handle grips, as I'm thinking of building mine using some wooden replacement ones. But I have no reference for size at the moment.
Keep it coming.

rey-han hole positions 7.jpg I have highlighted he distance from the edges of the holes versus the screws in the 7 hole blaster (in Red). also it looks like the middle hole is centered on the length of the flash hider (in green).
On another note, it would seem that the 7 hole version has a detail ring running around the rear end of he flash hider. (in Blue)

To me it looks like, if you look real close that there is a small square around the last hole, as if it has been taped up...

You know it would not surprise me if the prop master of this movie said. "Let's mess with the fans who make replicas and make a few changes between shots, posters and displayed versions". The same is happening with Hans DL-44. Slight discrepancies which only a site like this and the die hard fans would pick up.

I suppose we will all get a better idea when the 4K Blu-ray shows up and we can freeze frame the hell out of it.....

Until then we will all research what we can from what we see so far

Cheers

Awesome awesome build!! Let me know if you make more of the rounded top and bottom of the body... Would love to purchase from you.
