Yeeeeaaaa buddy.... Got some stainless steel blanks. I love this stuff. I have smaller dia. stainless rods that I plan on using for some cannon/gun barrels in some upcoming builds.
I also had to order some new tool bits for the lathe to cut this properly as HSS won't do and the Chineseium bits that came with the lathe I just don't trust to even lick the material. I don't have much room, so anything less than perfect cut, won't do. I love this f&*@(# material. Even when you TIG weld it, the colors... so pretty. Anyway, I digress.
I'll be cutting these once the new bits come in. As for price, I'm estimating 100 euros. I'm also going to offer these as an option from here on out.

In that last pic the ammo housing is actually off quite a bit. The edge should line up with the recessed area on the Steyr receiver but there is a significant gap which will not allow for the Cylinder and Cylinder cover to clear once you assemble the whole thing.

The last photo is a steel barrel made for my Tomenosuke, test fitted to my Sidkit. The 2 small screw holes line up perfectly along with the ammo box screw. So a Tomenosuke steel barrel modified to accommodate the Sidkit bulldog frame should fit just fine.

Huh? Errr.....So....does that mean that these new barrels fit OK with the new July 2017 release Tomensouke blasters? (i.e. Tom Pro Blaster 2049)

The Tomen replacement should fit the 2049 just fine. Hirohawa was pointing out differences between the Tomen barrel vs SidKit [emoji106]

Hey Teddz, im after a barrel for my Tomen 2049 assembly kit blaster.
Just before I decide on either steel or Stainless, how come virtually no ones gone for the stainless yet? Is it down to authenticity for the need to oil them?
I reckon they'll look the same but I like the idea of getting a stainless one so I don't need to worry about forgetting to oil it.

One of the only reasons I can think of, aside from the stainless steel being a new option, is that stainless has a pretty bright finish, almost like chrome, making it something that someone wanting a movie-accurate prop would pass up. However, someone who wants a shiny, chrome-looking blaster would be all over the stainless.
There's no real need to oil or care for the stainless barrel like the steel version, as it won't rust. Ever.
There is also a noticeable color difference between the steel and stainless steel barrels. The stainless is closer in color to the aluminum, but much brighter, whereas the steel is more of a dull color. When I cut a stainless barrel, I'll take a comparison pic of the 3 types to illustrate this color variance.

Checking if all is ok with this? I was informed mine would be shipped on July 24th and I'd be given a tracking number, but I've heard nothing since. I expect it's fine but I get nervous when the information flow dries up!
