we also now know the real size of the puppets. Rudolph is 6 inches and Santa is 11 inches, so it looks like I have some resizing to do.

As for my replica puppets, except more updates very soon!

After I'm finished with Rudolph I want to replicate another puppet. This one will be one that nobody has recreated yet, I'm trying to diced between Fireball and the Spotted Elephant.

I'm planning on giving Fireball to my little brother as a gift for Christmas or his Birthday so Fireball will be made no matter what, but the Spotted Elephant seems like he would be a fun character to replicate.
But witch one would you like to see first?

Perhaps I'm a bit biased judging by my profile picture, but I would absolutely love to see your take on Fireball! I wonder if his proportions would differ much from Rudolph himself. Might be worth comparing a few screenshots.

The Spotted Elephant would be neat too and I'm curious what kinds of materials you'd use for him. Both really unique choices!

Hey everyone, just a quick update on the Real Rudolph and Santa puppets.
Castle Noel (Home of many screen used Christmas Movie props and costumes) started a fundraiser to try and win the Auction this November. If the puppets go to Castle Noel, they will be displayed for the public to see again. So let's hope for they win this!!!
Here is a link if you would like to donate.

Also here is a link to a video going into more detail about the fundraiser and what will happen if they win the puppets.

-Also I'll be posting on my progress on Rudolph tomorrow.

Try this pattern for the Rudolph ear. once assembled it's narrower at the base because it's overlapped. Also the inner part of the ear should be narrower than the outer part.........so sew them around the edges leaving the bottom un-sewn........then turn it inside out, sew the fluff near the base and then fold the sides in and sew together......then attach to head.

This is actually very useful. I'll be sure to do this tonight.
SAVED ONCE AGAIN BY VADERDARTH!!! Thanks vaderdarth, this is super helpful! I will definitely be sure to use this when making the ears tonight.

I was looking for something like this for a santa hat inspired by my favorite Christmas movie. I'm going to try it out in a few days. Still have to finish my antlers :)

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be switching things around. I was planning on making Fireball after Rudolph but at the moment I am having trouble finding the color of felt to use for him. I could use the same color I used for Rudolph but I don't think it would look all that great. So In the meantime I'll be getting started on the Misfit Elephant.
Here is a plan I made for him a while ago:

I know Castle Noel had at least two fund raisers going on in an attempt to raise money to win the auction. I think they only raised about $20k total though...
I guess they figured a replica is better than nothing.
Yeah. I still don't know if I'll take the offer though.
