This is an excellent thread for anyone wanting to know how long it takes to build a suit. Jonathan is working extremely fast...super human fast, however it's still been a couple, maybe 3 weeks (i think) so far. Suits are HUGE projects. This is a great reference for all the steps involved. Great going man. ...oh and using the camera while your wife is sleeping is the best time to use it. Just kidding dude. haha

quakevirus you make viniyl decals? cause you know the decals that are like the intel inside logo? can you do one like that but instead of intel inside put "Hunter inside" to put it in my car

Thanks bro! yeah I'm still a couple weeks out from finishing the basic suit, not including weapons and trophies. These suits are definitely a journey. Using the camera while my wife sleeps is a death sentence. lol

Thanks man! I'm starting to put together some Predator Tshirt Designs together as well with a couple sticker designs too. I do alot of custom print work here in South Texas. I want to make a new HuntersLair Tshirt but I need to contact Art or Andrew (KitHunter) and see what would be involved with that licensing wise.

Update:

I finished pepping the bio today. Then I decided I might as well try and finish it. Got close..

A few spots need to be fixed then another coat of Aluminum Hammer Paint (the rattle can kind). Im just using the rattle can as a base and for the texture. After I get a good base coat on. I'll be air brush all of the weathering.

This is the bad side.. Im gonna fix some of the stuff by the mouth area and the brow. Some of the dips and gouges are going to stay. That way it has a "seasoned" look to it.

I added the center piece to the bottom of the gauntlets. Looks pretty cool to me.

Bells base painted.. notice the decals gave it a raised effect. Subtle yet elegant. lol

Hopefully by tomorrow sometime I'll have a neck seal worked out.

sand t a little more bro trust me it looks good, but if you sand it and give it some primer first you can see the bad areas better then proceed to paint with your base color, that hunter inside logo got me pumped, you did it better than i imagined, when you have some for sale hit me up

That's the plan bro. gonna rework it a bit more today and hopfully get it to a point where I can call it done.Then I can move on to making the last few pieces of armor that I can get to the weathering.

The first hunter inside decal I designed might be problematic with the cutter (unless the scale is pretty big). Those little lines at the bottom of the font, might not cut right because of the size. However I made a backup...

Also I made this one..

I think it will cut ok because it is scaled at 12 inches across. I'll find out later today.

Love the work on the new BIO. So you just whipped up a BIO in 3-4 minutes or less? If you have time to post pics of how you worked up a BIO so fast, I'd love to see that. Keep up the good work Speedy.

It's not hard. Just really tedious. Once I get in a good unfold( I adjust the pepakura unfolds a little) and rhythm going I can fly through it pretty quick.

lol as long as it doesn't say "child predator" you should be ok.

Thanks the bio took me about 3 hrs to build the paper model. After that I slushed around some smooth on rotocast in the inside of it (3 coats). After that I just spread the bondo and used the ol' palm sander and a soft and hard block to smooth it out. Hell I'll use whatever I can to get an angle.

Trying out a Hammered Copper Base. I just need to weather it up and add maybe a bit of some other metallic in there too. once it stops raining and dries out a bit, I'm going to get started on that. IF it comes out bad plan B is to with a gun metal or aluminum hammer paint as a base.

Blade Gauntlet update!

First I started by free handing a main blade plate that would house the blade and make a nice base for some apoxy scultping. Oh yeah I split a old sump pump tube in have to make the black ribbed area.

After about 3 hrs of apoxy sculpting I came up with this.. I didnt really have an set idea of what I wanted to accomplish with it. I just kinda "winged it" through it design wise. I still need to sand the rough edges.. ? ?

Looking at it today..I think Im going to add more to the back plates to make them match the rest better.

A set of hands from Casey (biohunter76) should arrive tomorrow, can't wait to paint em! and after xmas feet will be shipped my way. Oh yeah the same time the dreads I ordered from Termokk should be shipping too . Still alot to do

Your gonna like it. I've heard of rub and buff but have never used it myself.. been tempted tho. Can't wait to see that bio paint up!

Neck seal update....

After 3 failed attempts, I finally got it down. I used cotton rope some super glue and a about 3 coats of Plasti Dip and came up with this.. I have some progress pictures I think on my cell phone if anyone would like to see. I think it came out pretty good and it's flexible and tough as nails thanks to the plasti dip.

Checking in out with the chest pieces attached. This should give you an idea of how I'll get into the armor.

Not a bad looking neckseal.

And the back. Then spine track will cover up the zipper and I still need to add some buttons or velcro to the neckseal.

Tonight I'm going to finish the sculpting on the blade gauntlet and start the base work for the bomb gauntlet. I picked up a "music Bullet" from walmart today. I'm going to try and rig it up for predator clicking sounds.

Thanks bro! I'm most likely going to add some beads in there after I finished the gauntlets and shin guards. That would give me time to track down some cool looking beads.

Done and Done

I'll have a bomb gauntlet for you guys to check out tonight. I still have some work to do on it. The majority of the sculpting has been done already. As soon as my feet from Casey come in, I'll paint the hands, feet and touch up the undermask. That way when I get my dreads from Termokk everything will be ready for me to glue those in. After that I'll make the shin guards and do some finishing touches( Beads, lights, trophies, weapons, ect..)

As promised here's what I came up with...at the last minute I decided to add those teeth like spikes to both of them. I ran out of apoxy sculpt on the last one. I'll get better pics tomorrow evening after xmas has wound down and I clean up the panel display a bit.

I think the teeth spikes were a good choice.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I got a few free hours today and decided to primer the gauntlets and paint up the hands/touch up the mask.

Getting better at this airbrush thing..

Also I made a quick belt buckle out of sintra and foamies dipped in plasti dip.

Open. Im going to cut out the rectangular piece and back light a black cut vinyl "countdown" decal with a red EL panel. the panel will also light up the ten "buttons" on the bottom. ( I might order a blue strip of EL tape for the bottom ten)

looking amazing so far, the bio looks much better, take your time sanding carefully on the eye lens area, and take pics to compare, so they look the same on each side, take care
