Quakevirus Predator Build Wip - Suit Up Pics And Video Pg 8

I love the idea you had for the glyphs on the armor, I was looking for a way to do that on my med pack and that solved that issue thanks.

Looking great so far!! Have you test fitted the armor on the skin while wearing it yet? just to make sure it won't be too tight in areas when you do put it on?
Keep em updates coming!
cheers

Thanks man! Not while wearing the skin no. I'm using elastic in some parts of the armor so that I have a little give in certain areas. I should be ok.....should be,

Cool looking pred!

Idea: To create (paint) some blastmarks on the white armor. (battle damage)

Thanks for the compliment! I can cut some vinyl blastmark decals no prob. thanks for the idea. More research todo!!

No prob man! I'm putting some of the decals I have left over on my truck, phone..everything I premasked them so they can be easily applied to whatever. :)

Here's the paint up, a few minor touch ups needed. Mainly around the teeth area, I think.... what do ya'll think? Pass or Fail?

Already fixed those tho pesky quill holes I missed.

Thanks man! It's funny you said that cause my wife said the same thing! I was like "eehh... uhhh". I told her what you said and she had this HUGE smirk on her face. It was that "I ******* told you so." look. I love her! Dreads are on the way.Need to check on that actually. Thanks for the reminder.

Update:

Here's what I got going on...I primed added glyphs, sanded everything with 220 grit and started assembling the chest armor.

The center piece is attached to a 3 inch strip of elastic that is doubled up, with pop rivets. Then I added button snaps to each side of the chest part. Makes it easy to get on I just need to get some leather for some straps.

LOL, i like your suit bro, i wish i was this far with mine :)

Thanks bro, I can't believe I'm this far with mine.

Nice going man, this is coming along awesomely

Thank you kind sir! :)

Update:

I added the rest of the decals to ALL of the plates and sanded everything down with 220, even the decals( so the paint will stick to them). Looks like I should have a good range of motion with the armor. Just need to finish the shin guards and make the guantlets. Oh yeah I gotta redo the bio, the one I originally made was too small. :( Its ok I'll fix it.

Here's some pics of the mock up.

Looking pretty sweet man, loving the paint up on that armour.

You gonna add a metallic silver/ gun metal look to it? Just like a mist of it sprayed in the air above the pieces so that it settles in place on top of your paint up (so not too thick or thin) that would really set it off.

I can't believe how fast your suit is progressing. I would like to add a bit of constructive criticism. I think the mouth is a bit too bright. Like others said it needs to be toned down a bit. Look at your mouth in a mirror. It isn't bright red, more of a pink/flesh color. It is not a stark contrast to your skin color. Other than that, the mask looks fantastic.

Thanks man! The paint up hasn't even begun yet :) . All I've done is prepped everything for paint. I gotta say that it does look pretty cool right now tho. metallics will be painted soon. I just want to make sure I'm happy with the shape and fit of all the plates first so I can paint them all at once.

You and I both! Criticism is always welcome! Adding some pink to the mouth is on the list of things to fix. I need to also add some Red and Yellow washes to blend the rest of the mask with the body suit a little better. It's too green and needs to be changed a bit. I'm waiting to do all the painting at once. Well atleast that's the plan. :)

Hello quake!
Congratulations for a great costume!
You would ask a question.
What material did you use for the armor?
Foam? how many mm?
Hello and thank you!

Wow I take this as a HUGE compliment! :) For my third costume/first predator I'm really please with the results I'm getting. More updates this evening ;) Again Thanks for the compliments, they motivate me to make this thing even better!

Hello! Thanks man! The armor is made from a 4x8 sheet of .040 Sintra plastic. Most plastic vendors should carry it. It cost roughly $30-35US for a sheet. The ab and Back tracks were made out of foam...not sure of the thickness. The foam came from old gray garage matts that I Plasti-Dipped. Thanks for the questions! (y)

Looks awesome man keep up the Good work!!

Thanks man!

Sorry for the lack of updates last night..got late and couldn't use the camera(wife was sleeping).

Here's what I did last night. I plasti dipped an old leather belt. I think Im going to paint it metallic just like the armor. The plates were off a bit so I re adjusted where they mount to the belt to make them more flush with the top of the belt.

Started on the leather work a bit. I needed some leather so .... I destroyed my Polo Jacket ;) small sacrifice. :)

whats left of the jacket

and ended up with this...

Not sure if I like the longer pieces just yet. I might split the tail piece in to 4 strips and the cod flap in to 2 strips..or I might just cut them off somewhat even with the others. I want to get it up on the skin before I make any rash decisions.

Thanks for looking, should have more later today.

Here's some more work I did on guy today. I strung up the leather strips from the jacket and mocked it up with the rest of everything..I don't know whether or not I like the long strips or if it would look better with the mini skirt tabbard look. I'm leaning toward the shorter version. What do ya'll think??

My thought is.. the longer strips covers up too much of the skin.

Also today made the bottoms for the Bomb and Blade gauntlets. I still need to find something for that center piece.

Bottom of the gauntlets, flat sintra and foam.

Assembled. foam plasti dipped :D

Gonna try and pep out a new bio tonight and hopefully get it slushed with some smooth cast tomorrow(don't feel like messing with fiberglass).

Thanks for looking and commenting :) . Let me know about the tabbards.
