Quakevirus Predator Build Wip - Suit Up Pics And Video Pg 8

Whay kind/brand of spray gun did you get? Looking forward to how it turns out.

Great work so far, also great creativity shines thru. This in one thread that I'm going to follow for sure.

I made same pepakura bio about year ago. I printed it out at original scale and it looked right on scale with rest of the suit :)

You can find picture of the bio with similar suit as last pic on this post ->

Thanks man! Just re-looked through your thread and your build is chocked full of excellent ideas. I like the way you made the blade and CPU gauntlets. Great work bro!

Thanks for the link! You have eased my mind my friend. (y)

Whay kind/brand of spray gun did you get? Looking forward to how it turns out.

The one I got is a Central Pneumatic high volume/low pressure spray gun. You and I both. It's my first time spraying latex... should be an adventure. :D

Busy couple days... borrowed a higher power compressor for the latex spraying, picked a few odds and ends im going to need for that..started sculpting on a bio.. :D

a few Progress pics.. I'll finish this guy up tonight i think.

Not bad. Cant wait to finish this up. the lines on the side are guides for tonight.

Thanks Thebeastwithin!

Ok guys, finished the bio and I think it came out pretty good. Had to work fast with the apoxy. This is my first bio sculpt, I wanted it to look like rough, casted metal. The primer makes it look kinda like rock . A paint up with some metallic paint will fix that. It's heavy..guess that means I gotta mold it. :D

Enough jibba jabba, here's the pics.

Edit: Found this pic of it before primer. It kinda gives you an idea of how Im going to paint it. The smooth part will be one kind of metallic and the rough parts will have a different metallic look to it. I want there to be contrast some what. If that makes sense..

Thanks for looking guys, Comments welcome, good/bad..they motivate me. :)

thanks bro, if i had more time to work with the apoxy clay, i would have put some more detailing in it. maybe add some pred writing on it or something ..idk....oh well not bad for a first Bio. thanks for checking it out. i was worried it looked bad. lol tonight I'll post some pics of the Mr I suit i made today.:)

Update: I finished the skin last night. I used a Hvlp spray gun to coat this sucker. Lots of latex cotton and seed beads later, we have a pretty decent, nice and warty Predator skin. I learned alot doing this skin and I already know what I want to do on the next one. Once this one is painted up, it should look pretty damn awesome. I hope....

Thanks for looking! As always, Comments are welcome. :D

I thought I was done latexing the suit. lol I was looking at it and it just didn't look right. So I went ahead and did a little bit more. Looks waay better. Can't wait to paint it :) I need an economical way to base coat the suit with an off white color, any suggestions?

Sorry for the crappy lighting in my shop.

Damn... Quake, you work so fast it's hard to even make a suggestion on anything. Not like you need it. It's fun to see how people approach the Predator puzzle differently. Nice BIO and Suit! You have come a long way in a short time. Anyway, back on the neck ring. Not that there's anything wrong with yours.. I think yours may have been harder to make. Anyway, another approach is using the irrigation tubing the sell at Home Depot and Lowes. It's rigid black plastic and looks great. Here is a picture of what I think is the same product I bought. You'll know it when you see it in the store. 50ft is plenty too. Also goes together really quick with Superglue. And you can stagger the tubes for the flaring out towards the base of the neck easily with just dots of Superglue along the way. Do not stick your fingers together...it's a bitch pulling them apart. I think you could also use this tubing for various connections to the Bio and backpack, etc. Keep up the great work Quakevirus! You'll be done in time to suit up and greet Santa on Christmas Eve. Won't he be surprised.

Haha yeah I do work pretty quick. Thanks for the compliments man. Suggestion are always welcome. This is my first, but not my last predator :D Thanks for your help via PM too. The neck seal.... mine is definitely going to need replacing. Its wicked stiff, now I could mold it and cast it in latex and make one that way. buuut my wallet likes your idea better. Super glue and I, know each other well, all the Mortal Kombat masks I make were modeled off a pepakura base.. Best way to get it off is Hot soapy water. Ive tried everything in the house to get it off and hot soapy water works the best for me.

Here's an update, I finally locked down a armor style for my predator, and I'm going with the Vinman's AVP templates that I found here on the lair. So I printed them out on 11x17 sheets of regular paper stock and started to mock them up on the skin to make sure the scale was ok before I cut it out of Sintra. I only had to shift a couple of the templates around in the print manager to get everthing that was over the printable edge. Scale looks great. Starting to get exciting!! My sheet of sintra should be here in a couple days or so. :) and yes that's Randy Quade..he's happy with the predator so far.

Ok so I have never used an airbrush before, let alone, paint anything with latex. So I eyeballed out a 50/40/5-10is? paint/prosaide/water ratio and went to town on this beast. Thanks every one here on the lair for there help and awesome Huntorials. so go easy on me guys.. I think he came out ok. I should have the mask in hand by early next week, and that will get a matching paint up. I hope I can do it justice  . Thanks again Corey! With out further ado...here is the paint up of my first predator latex body skin.

Now I just gotta get this guy a dressed and outfitted for hunting. :)

Thanks guys! I was abit nervous painting it at first so I started on the back to get the feel of the airbrush. Didn't take long to get it. Once you go airbrush you just can't go back. I love that little thing! Can't wait to paint up the mask when I get it.

Small update no pictures. My kids are in bed and the wife is at work till midnight..which means I got some sintra to cut. Templates for the upper torso, arms and waist are all layed out and ready. :D

Awesome paint up job! looks very damn nice, and it's your first? haha I hope I can do just as nice a job on mine once I get it going!! Can't wait to see you do your mask!!
