Ok the SW bashing is getting out of hand for me

sad to say that's fact though, i had a post pulled cos i called GL a rude name, it was pretty pathetic.

What was pathetic, the rude name or the fact that it was pulled???
Remember, Wolfie, there are women AND children on this site. If your post was "pulled" maybe you should be a little more considerate towards our "minority membership"
Personally, I think your lack of willingness to "grasp" that simple fact is, in itself, VERY pathetic...

I tell you what the continual re-releasing,tweaking,fan biatching,and Lucas bashing is doing to me:I'm beginning to hate Star Wars period,old,new,what-the-hell-ever I'm sick of all of it.

If you want to make me like the whole thing again you'll have to do this.

Stop crawling up Lucas's butt,it's his damn movie and if he wants to alter it into The Maltese Falcon in space he can.

At the same time Lucas needs to quit with the original and do something else,Lucas,my friend,DO SOMETHING ELSE! you've touched on it in the games,go back go way back and bring us something new,as it is I'm starting to want to throw Luke and the rest in the Sarlacc pit with Boba!

I haven't watched the original set of films in many moons and doubt I will before I'm in my fifties it's just so worn out....

Funny, but futile IMO - as far as anyone can tell, MD is completely opaque to the inbuilt irony of his relentless anti-SW-bashing posts.

I see A LOT of people in this thread saying "you dont like it - fine - you dont need to keep saying it" that I see do THE SAME THING about other popular movies ALL THE TIME.

I do think it's fair enough to draw a distinction between threads where discussion is invited versus those where criticism isn't welcome or desired. I've been as guilty as anyone but am trying to exercise more self-control these days.

But none of that means either that (A) the people who complain don't still love Star Wars in some form, or that (B) this place is wholly negative.

Alrighty. That´s one of the more stupid things I have read in quite some time. Both the original post that you quoted and your reply to it.

It´s either new members or really old members with really skewed views of things who´d believe that we´d ban people just because they like or don´t like a movie. I can understand that new members might be tricked into believing such a stupid thing, but I don´t understand old members even coming up with such an idea.
Clear case of "Who's the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?"

Regarding the post that was pulled, since you do feel the need to mention and discuss this openly, if you as a new member can´t express yourself or your opinion without using profanity, you have to expect that you will receive be reprimanded for it, because...

It´s such a really simple rule that even a toddler is expected to follow in most people´s households, but here it´s pathetic when we aks folks to behave?!

I feel it´s really boiling down to the simple basic truths these days.

If you don´t like a movie, don´t watch it.
If you don´t like a thread, don´t enter into it.
If you don´t like another member, simply ignore them (unless they interact directly with you).
If you don´t like the RPF, then you are free to not visit this place.

People aren´t banned for their opinions. In all the years that I´ve been a mod this has not happened once. Everybody´s free to prove me wrong.
People will be banned if they aren´t able to communicate their opinions in a civil manner, though.

Now, I hope that it´s possible to continue this discussion in a more civil manner.
