I think the key word here is "she". lol. Not to many female pred fans out there. Out of the 90 people that came to the theatre I went to I only seen about 5 ladies. I guess most chicks dont dig preds/sci fi as much as the guys.
^^^…Well, believe me when I tell you that I make up for all the chics/gals who don’t dig preds.

the more and more i think about it, i begin to hate this movie. i expected way too much out of it and it didnt deliver in my opinion. the one thing i hated about AVP was that there were 3 predators and 2 of them get killed off within 3-5 minutes of screen time. and what did they do in this movie... they killed off the falconer pred and tusky even quicker. that really pissed me off. i will say that i loved Laurence fishburn's and topher grace's characters because they are more original than the others. back to the hate- there weren't any new weapons other than the falcon that we only get a quick glimpse of, and i dont consider the changing plasma blaster a new weapon. also, i wanted to see a human getting skinned or really torn up. and i didnt like the ending. and by the ending i mean after the predator one on one fight- that was kinda cool... we need more of that! all in all, i give this movie 5 out of 10. final note- the cgi fire explosion was terrible!!!

Was thinking the same thing when the russian guy blew himself and tusky up, for a big budget movie the fire really was awful, it looked so fake right up until end when it was real fire in shot....come on!! how can u **** fire up?

The tri lasers were just for the trailer, just something RR thought would be cool i think the report was.

lol.

The tri lasers were just for the trailer, just something RR thought would be cool i think the report was.

That's what I was thinking when I first heard there where only 4 preds in the movie. I was trying to do the math and it just wasnt adding up. lol. I was hoping they'd suprise us with maybe a short scene of 8+ preds or somthing but oh well. I was still happy . I liked that scene with Black ripped out the spine. Sick !

The day after seeing it, i find myself disliking a few other bits, but the plus points still far far outweigh the stuff i personally didnt like.

The sword fight annoys me the more i think about it, the damn pred stood still basically, he should have been bouncing around and taking the piss out of Mr " I talk to much " i understand it was probably a style thing, but didnt play as well is i had hoped.

Sadly i will not be able to go see it again , but am eagerly awaiting thr BR release date.

oooh another plus point, tusky died very quickly , just as id hoped

EDIT : wifey liked it also, like me she also thought LF part was too OTT ,

ye, the explosion was a bit shabby but oh well.
i enjoyed the most of it so i am not complaining, it was 100 times better than AVP which was what i was hoping and it keeps the franchise alive!

Saw the midnight showing last night.
The score was amazing. It gave the movie a great tone and feel of the original Predator.
I didn't care for the dogs as much as I hoped I would, but it was still ok.
I liked all of the characters actually, but I still don't see why they had to use the "F" bomb every ten seconds... I mean come on.
There was some pretty good humor throughout the film I was surprised.
I know some of you said you thought Noland was too crazy, but I thought he did a fine job.
When Nikolai blew himself up, that was a great way to end off Tusky in my opinion; however, the Falconer scene was pretty lame ha
I was getting pumped when he was preparing to fight like Billy...and then it pretty much went downhill.

Now as for the best scene of the movie
I can't decide between the part when Mr. Black ripped the con's spine out while he was still alive, and when Royce cut down P1 and he started to put his classic bio on. PLEASE tell me everyone noticed the BADass music during that scene?!?!

Overall, I was very satisfied with the film. Wasn't as good as the Dark Knight on opening night haha but I was very, very happy with it as a devout Predator fan.

Go see it if you haven't.

I went to see the first showing of the day(after the midnighter) and the theater wasn't as full as I feared. It was a good crowd. This is the first time I've been to the movies by myself.

Even after all of the spoilers that I have seen, I still think this movie is awesome. An instant classic. The formulaic plot turns and some of the predictability didn't bother me much.

I had a hard time enjoying the sword fight with Mr. Stiff. I would have thought that it would be a little one-sided if you go head to head with a nimble swordsman. The end of the fight was obvious but I'm glad they did it that way because that salvaged the scene for me.

I liked Tuskys end. That was just like that recent fan film.

Comlaints aside. I liked the feel of the whole movie. The practical fx made me feel comfy, a flashback to the days when movies had to actually be filmed instead of drawn up.

The character interactions were great! -We're in this together but by ourselves- type of vibe.

Neeeeeeeed moooooooore

Just back from seeing the movie and really enjoyed it. Loved the various nods to P1 especially with the music and over all 'feel of the sound/music'. The characters were very believable and Brody made a convincing lead. He may not have the bulk of Arnie but he was quick with his wits and quick with his moves. In fact I'm sure he said that was one of the things he was..quick
As with many others I found that the sword fight scene could have been a little longer but then where do you draw the line of cutting and adding to the movie (maybe on the DVD release it will be a little longer).
Someone mentioned they didn't like the beheading but I guess that's what the Preds go for, trophy wise.
I also wonder how long a hunting season was/is on that planet. If it is one every year then LF did look rather well fed. I ask because at the end of the movie there were more parachutes opening and descening from the skies
So overall a good 8/10 and I loved the closing credits music
Oh and the cinema was packed!

Freaking awesome! They didn't get cheesy with it and kept it simple. There was a little bit too muc homage to the original but it definitly gave it the feel of the original. Awesome movie! Thank god, finally this movie has come.

I loved it!

Overall: 9/10 [you'll see a 10/10 when a Predator wins overall and survives...hehe]

A more then deserving sequel to the original.

The Negative:

I waited for the heavy gun, and actually thought it would be very similar to the original Blain used--but it was not, so that left me wanting more from that aspect. I do agree that since Nolan was there for 8-10 seasons, he should have looked thinner or at least more defined as to his build. I honestly didn't like how the P1S was killed off, I actually would have liked it if he would have at least killed one of the new Preds off. I believe they showed too little screen time for the new preds too, and showed their hardly abilities. I HATED the whole "the enemy of my enemy" statement by Royce. My only conflict with his acting. I was upset at least one of the four preds didn't make it. I would have liked to see the pred hounds rip into someone. They made the bsp out to be this super badass pred, and decapitated the P1S and did very well elsewhere, but then got his handed to him by Royce. The fight between the Falconer was pretty interesting, but that the actual death was kinda corny. Tusk seemed to be on par with baddassness, except that he died pretty quick. We had something similar to AVP with the offing of two preds back to back rather quickly, imo.

The Good:

I could actually see it! The setting was perfect, it wasn't just like the original Predator, but was similar. I liked the set up of the Pred camp. The hounds were pretty cool. I'm actually liking the Falconer and Tusk more then before. For the amount of screen time Tusk aired, I thought he was as bad ass as the BSP. I mean, he dented the **** out of the steel panel. I liked the decloaking, it was pretty sweet seeing the falcon return to the falconer [while sitting in the tree], then we saw Tusk decloak then the bsp decloak. I really like how the P1S was cloaked during the fight, ran towards the bsp and decloaked when he hit him and knocked him on his rear--that was sweet! I really thought the lighting was perfect. I liked to nods towards the original. Like Lee, said I thought it was not too much, but just enough. I thought it was extremely badass when BSP saw the craft take off and leave, pressed some buttons on his gauntlet, and it blew up while he was walking away....that was awesome! I loved the rapid fire plasma cannon that the bsp had. It makes me wonder if the other two had the same type? I loved the ending credits music!!! Completely awesome! Last but not least....I believe it leaves it open for a sequel!!

Can't wait till it hits Blue-Ray!!!

As for my Predator Movie rankings:

T-1..........Predator/Predators
3............Predator 2
4............AVPR
5............AVP

just got back from seeing it. i loved the movie the feel and tension were like the first. the score was amazing i agree with everyone that commented on LF's character being too fat! but he did do a good job with the way he played crazy IMO. i mean who wouldn't loose their marbles. i just wish that the fight scenes with the falconer vs hanzo and royce vs black would have been longer. i also wanted to see more of the falconer and his falcon, but other than that i have no complaints. i will see this movie a second time

order of magnificence to lack there of: (at least for me)
Predator
Predators
Predator 2
AVP
AVPR

SMALL SPOILER ALERT.
going to keep it short and to the point.
id give it an 8/10 rating.
i think there should have been a bit less talking and more about the predators. falconer, tusky, and classic for shown for like 3 minutes tops and it angered me a lot.
i found that the new breed was cool but was kind of left alone. a bit more explanation should have been done.
i like how the people all were killers in some way and made it ironic. kind of gave the movie an actual meaning.
i liked the plot also but as i said they talked for 3/4 of the movie and the beginning is drawn out.
over all its an 8/10 and is very worth seeing!
another cool and good addition to the franchise. i hope they have more films for the series now that they apparently "rebooted" the series.

I also like the detail that they put into it. For the most part, Tusk had different armor then Falconer and BSP. That I liked. I did notice the the CGI fire, but oh well, one of the few negatives...

hmmm well, just got home from seeing it, not quite as good as i was expecting. highlight for me was the classic pred, wasnt overly keen on the new preds but i think it was quite rushed such as the 2 preds dying quite quickly. i liked when mr black ripped the skull and spine from the convict, noland was cool but i think they couldve gone further with him. the end was cool and i think the story as a whole was good including the characters and setting but like the mrs said, id always be comparing it to P1 / P2 and picking out the bad points. for me i just think it wouldve been a better movie with just classic preds maybe include one bad blood gone awol ******* up the preds plan for the prey.

7 / 10 for me

Thumbs up....when they first reached the Preds camp I was hoping one of them was going to say "this must be the hunter's lair"
