Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

So where does one get this Rustolium fabric protector? Would you buy it at an Auto place?
Rustoleum Neverwet
I used the one-part system in the blue bottle. There is also a two-part system I am not familiar with.

In the US, I got it at Home Depot. A building supply store, in the paint section.

Oh, OK and here I was thinking it was going to be in a pressure pack can. As we don't have Home Depot, maybe Bunnings might have it. At least I have a bit of a clue as to what I am looking for now. Thanks.

Cool. If you find it somewhere, let the rest of us Aussies know. I'll keep an eye out for such things but haven't seen either of those (crep or neverwet) yet - though I haven't made special trips out to look for them yet. Foot Locker used to sell a waterproofer (probably still do) but if it hasn't improved since however many years ago I sprayed some Air Max 97's with it, don't bother. It just made the water bead off the solid surfaces, didn't stop it coming through the mesh.

I saw these on eBay and I can't believe any one bid on them at all . I think they used some pictures from this forum actually.

On a different note has any one tried to thin down the puffy white ears to make them look more like the RDs?

The hell? That's a weird mix of photos. V2's, real 2016's with PL, and V3's. Also, "I am moving across the country and cannot bring these with me." LOL

I'm not surprised someone bid on them... but I don't know who these people are that will bid on expensive items sold from new accounts with zero feedback. I just want to meet the people who do that :facepalm

What a scum bag. One photo of the V2s he is selling then V3 and RD photos plus my IG photo of the yellowed sole.

Looks like my charger will arrive tomorrow. Currently sitting in Sydney, so hopefully processed and sent on a truck over night.

I doubt this will make a lick of difference, but will remain hopeful. Stranger things have happened.

Way too bright will be drawing it back a bit to prolong battery life. Still a really early test, but really shows how easily LEDS can outshine the EL panels.

@WizzardBTTF did you cast a custom part or did you use a plastic and simply cut it out? Also is it possible to change the colour to the proper CYAN?

Hello. Just curious to how much and where you bought your pair from. I just ordered the HC pair and that was before I knew about v2 and such ): I want to order a pair of v2s

Laser cut original dome shapes, then cast those so I could completely encase the LEDS in the resin. I think it will be far more durable this way. This was just a test to get the diffusing distance/thickness down. The LEDS I will probably use for the final versions will be 5050 RGB they'll be color selectable.

Very cool. What will you do for the strap? I'd like to see an LED version made if it were possible.

Ok, so will you have to completely rewire everything since these will be LEDs and not EL?

If he keeps the strap EL, then these LEDs could be connected to the LED board on the Heel Cup. If he makes the whole shoe LED, then the Inverter needs to come out and that would be a re-wire.

@wizzardbttf : Don't forget to mention me when you post this in the junkyard : don't want to miss this if you make a kit ;)
basically did that to my HCs, but i used the led that were provided with the shoe and enclosed then like this :
- one layer of white reflective plastic
- hotglue layer that i shaped in dome then cut an horizontal 2mm hole in that goes to the middle (where i insert the led with the wire)
- cavx GITD casting cut into a dome shape which is in front and act like another diffuser

this would make two differences for the HCs :
- first, having the led in the center would make a better diffusion of the light
- and allow the gitd to be recharged when there is no sun in few minutes

since then, i found some translucent plastic that i want to test, but i couldn't find the right colour in led :/
is it possible to get this aquablue from led without having to use a circuit board or inverters ?
