F44AA Romulus Pulse rifle 3d design and build

Wow, that looks great!

Ah, I just rewatched that scene, now I know what you mean. I thought you meant it was moving in its closed position, but you mean that once the stock is opened the rear moves around quite freely. So does that mean your stock in its opened position will not be able to move from left to right to "simulate" auto aim?

That‘s too bad… I understand to a certain extent, but couldn’t that just as easily happen with .stl files though?
On the plus side, that means my own F44AA CAD project is still on. Can't wait to put my new modelling skills to work, I had to up my CAD game a bit modelling the M240 flamethrower in Fusion. :D

Cheers!

This first release it will be solid and no side to side movement, but as its quite modular, I'm sure ill revisit and look at a having ago at a moveable one a bit later on. My M41A file set has multiple stocks and shrouds as I've added to it over the years. I have some ideas looking at the expanded universe and would like to model up some under barrel attachments for the F44, perhaps a non Auto Aim stock as well.

Your M240 Sounds great, do you have a build log ? Id love to see how your CNC parts turn out.

The modularity of your M41A is indeed fantastic. Modular stocks etc. on the F44AA sounds great!
I haven't really kept up with the expanded universe stuff, so I didn't even know that different under barrel attachments are a thing.

Regarding the M240, I'll make a WIP post soon. I'm still refining my CAD model and have not yet had any parts CNC machined. I plan on 3D printing the main body in the same way schotti made his M240 main body from wood, and attaching all the metal parts to the main body. It's quite frustrating though, since not only is the shape of the M240 main body very "organic", but in order to accommodate the rear of the M203 heatshield, I need to create a cutout and a mechanism to hold it securely in place. It'll probably take me a while to finish this.

Cheers!

A few redesigns for the torch and battery box.
I went away from a reed switch and have settled on a microswitch to break the 5v line for the torch.
The battery box is now fully assembled by screws and no gluing needed anymore.

I ran out of white ABS for the test print of the torch - ill reprint once my white rolls arrive.
