What do you guys suggest about shipping. Should I use the free Epacket, free China Post Registered Air Mail, or the the $26 EMS? Which is trackable and insured, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, not going to get stuck in customs?

I mean, if i'm spending $200 on shoes what's another $26. I just want to know which is the best option.

I think you answered your own question here.

Pay the $26 and track that sucker to your door.

Out of curiosity, now long does it normally take for the order to process? And has anyone ever had their order cancelled because the processing counter ran out?

These look great now. How super hot would they look with a yellow version of the outrigger ;)

I bought translucent Red (made a set for Taff83 a while back), Yellow and Green (I also have blue and black - a very low black tint looks hot BTW). The idea was to mix a little bit of each colour (Red Yellow Green) into 3 small batches of clear and fill the slots on the inside of the LED bubble, then back light that with white EL. I'd probably place a hole punched filter over the EL first to only allow points of light to come through.

Given a study showed EL lasts much longer than LEDs on the same power supply, having an EL version of the LEDs is quite appealing. It also takes the complexity out of having to add resisters etc.

The wiring is simplified as well now because the one wire running done the inside of shoe can provide power to both the soles and bubble instead of needed two - one for LEDs, one for EL.

I just rode back this and i'm more than considering doing it ! Much more simple than LEDs plus makes me avoiding soldering ! :D :thumbsup

This screen-used pair of MAGs just received by the "Prop Store" is in really good shape.

Shoes are at 13:50, and the 2015 Hill Valley Police car is just before them. The whole video is interesting though if you have 17 minutes to spare.

Look at those long tongues! The midsole speckles look really blue, I wonder if its just from age? Others look more green

Apart from making the wiring easier, I just want to max out the wear time on these given that I would be mine for 8+ hours at a con.

Yeah NIKE dropped the ball on that. The tongues were much longer (at least 15%) on these 1989 shoes Vs the 2011 shoes.

The perceived colour shift is due to a few things -

1. Grey is a neutral colour, so place it with other colours and our brains process the colour colour of grey as tinted.
2. What camera setting were used for the capture of thie image? Was the camera white balanced and was a flash used?
3. What colour temp is your monitor running at? Most PC monitors really push the blue. This means your grey scale is also blue and whist this will make text easier to read (the reason it is done) all of your colour images will also be tinted blue. I have a colorimeter and the colour of the monitor on this PC is off the chart with only 100IRE (white) actually being at 6500K. The average is 9300K.

Thats a screenshot of the video I quoted, not sure what my coloring on my screen is, its on the stock setting of my mobile phone. It might look different on a PC monitor than on my mobile, so it might be my settings

What video? Is there a link?

Thanks. How did I miss that?

I also found another video that shows similar shoes, maybe the same pair, not sure.

Excuse the rough hand cut letters (can't wait to get my revised machined parts), but when I mixed the colour, it looked right at the time, but set quite a bit greener and I always thought it was too green. These images (yes monitors and other varibles come into play for colour matching) look pretty close.

Yep same pair, I went through both vids and got screenshots so I can have as many photos of the original MAGs as I can :lol

Splatter matches from both vids. And also one shoe has a loose strap which makes the collar flare out a bit more that the other shoe with both pair from both vids

I do have to wonder about the type of EL they used for the screen used pairs. On every shot I have of the 89 shoes, the EL (when off) is quite yellow and I do wonder of back then the didn't have white when off EL.

I actually think the turquoise splatter on the screen used pair is brighter than what they ended up doing on the 2011 release.
I've looked at numerous pictures and videos, and they definitely seem a brighter shade of turquoise green/blue.

When you compare the screen used shoes and the 2011 shoes, the 2011 shoes look too stiff, almost too pristine, especially the collars, which should be loose like V2 has.
Although i did see a video on youtube of a used 2011 pair and its been used thoroughly and the fabric has loosened up on the toe area, but the collars are still stiff.
