Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I was going to give you the heads up, but by the time I saw it, it looked like you already had a handle on it. Don't worry about it. These things happen.

I just hope your password is now about 800 characters long. :p

Is 799 good enough?

Sorry man but you guys just won't listen. NIKE IS NOT RELEASING THE MAGS AGAIN...PERIOD.

And why I continue to pour money down a what seems to be a bottomless hole working on these shoes.

Shame today is not April 1 :)

And the attempt to bond the clears to the mid-soles with the rubber was not that great, so I have removed them, added white rubber to the shoe's mid-sole and will glue them on from there. I may still use a vacuum though because I was impressed how it held the parts down. I might just do these in my vacuum chamber though. That way I can place them under vacuum, lock off the suction, turn the pump off and leave then set up over night. One of two things will happen, either all the air will get sucked out froming a 100% perfect bond or it fail due to the temp raise of liquids/gels under vacuum. I hope for the first.

Man you really got my hopes up. I figured since you posted it that it was definitely legit.
Freddy, what are you hoping for? Real MAGs with power lacess or just the chance to own real MAGs. There has been so many posts on Facebook about NIKE releasing power laced shoes for $400. NOT GONNA HAPPEN EVER!

A quite few years ago, ADIDAS released a pair of shoes with electronics (some micro processor to monitor and supposedly adjust the torsion bar) in their shoes. The shoes came out in one style at over $500 a pair. Do they have electronics in their shoes today? NOPE, because they will fail and no one really wants to pay that kind of money for a shoe that will probably be out of fashion in 6 months. Even the MAG (as nice a design as it is) gets hammered with people saying how ugly it is.

The NIKE MAG was a part of a futuristic costume. It was (and did) inspire many of us about the possibilities of what may come.

Power laces would be nice but I would honestly be happy with a 2011 pair. I agree about the nightmare it would cause Nike to have such shoe - unless they figure out an efficient way of making it work.

As for Nike releasing a Mag on 10/21 - I'm almost positive they will. It's a once in a lifetime chance - why would they pass it up? As far as what shoe it's going to be - only they know that. They may bring back the 2011 Mags and/or drop a very limited run of power lacing Mags. It obviously won't be mass produced and will be impossible to get (which sucks).

in a few weeks we won't have to wonder anymore...

You sound confident like you know something...

There is the 30th celebration in LA during the week of the 21st, and I agree, what better time than in the afternoon or the exact day in the film, but why would they? This is a part of a costume, not a real sports shoe. It has inspired many and even changed the way shoes are made (Pretty much all shoes these days have their laces attach from the mid-sole and use materials that make them much lighter then traditional leather shoes) but it is not a practical pair for sports and way too high for many to wear even casually.

Seriously, how many times do you wear your HCs with your jeans in?

I am surprised Pepsi-Co have not jumped all over this with a refillable bottle that you could only buy at Pizza Hutt. Sadly no, because like the MAG, the Pepsi-Perfect bottle was a prop in a movie. And the funny part is when someone posts one of those "today is the day Marty traveled to the Future" on Facebook, most won't know or care and won't even bother to check if the date is right.

I think we should all take a selfie with our MAGs on and post it on the day. That would be kind of cool.

Mark hit it on the head. Exactly.

I know you FreddyTV really think NIKE feels a need to release these but they did already. In 2011. Even that shoe was a prop replica and it said that in the poster. It was never meant to be a practical shoe. Yes people wore them and yes the electronics failed in most of those pairs. Why?...because it was a PROP REPLICA. Now you are thinking that because it's 2015 that NIKE owes us the real self lacing MAG. That's not how they see it. They are a shoe company that will make a profit whether the power laces shoes look like the MAGs or not. However, the MAG shoe can not hold the power lacing system AND electronics for the lights. There is NO room for both. Especially if you would want the strap to pull tight and light up. If you look at the recent basketball shoes, you can see that they have been moving in the direction of a MAG inspired shoe. THIS will be what we will see. A futuristic inspired self lacing shoe. That's all.

Exactly right. NIKE does not owe BTTF2 fans anything.

Exactly. Look at the work done by Blake Bevin and where is her electronics and motor box?

On the outside of the shoe because there is just no room once you put a foot in there.

I don't feel Nike owes us anything. All I'm saying is that I doubt that they will pass up such a great opportunity and not release something Mag related on or around 10/21. I also feel like they will have the power lacing Mags ready by 10/21 - whether they decide to make pairs available or not - that's up to them to decide. My 2 cents.

I guess I am not really a BatMan fan. Yeah Keaton was OK. Kilmer wasn't the best choice. Clooney? Well see my previous post. Bale is OK. I am interested in seeing what Afleck can do here.

So the "softness" of that first set of US8 parts must have something to do with the fact they were the first parts pulled from this new mold. 2nd casts are awesome, so Vormz, you have a really nice set coming your way.
