Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Not much between the US12 (yellow sole) and the US13 (modded).

This post is long over due...I highly approve of Cavx's clear soles. They make the V2s a lot closer to the 2011 Mags... Thanks Cavx and Jedifyfe for all your help! :)

WOW. Cavx, I've been on these MAG threads since day 1, and these soles look awesome. Once you get all the kinks worked out with the bubbles, I might just have to get a set or 2 of these from you. I have 2 pair of size 12's. Great work!

Bubbles won't be an issue once I change to the flat mold in the size US13.

This is for US9.5 and I will be making US8 and a new US13 soon.

I have already pull a test run and the parts came out bubble free.

Got a pair of sock mods done and got some test Angelus on one of them. The light grey is too dark out of the bottle, I'm going to have to add some white to it to get an accurate colour.

I've removed all but the top layer of the material and added in a piece of EVA foam to create a new toe cap.

When I do a sock toe, I like to keep the bottom layer because it will help the toe keep its shape or slump if you want it to. When you remove the base layer, it tends to pull tight light a drum skin. It is certainly more comfortable than a steam toe slim with out the toe box. I also don't cut any excess off the toe because I think that the amount of material is correct, just the shape needs correcting.

When I did my US8s, I made a few mistakes. One was to use liquid superglue for the joining of the fabric back to the shoe. It makes the material stiff and changes the colour to a dark grey. The other was removing the upper completely from the mid-sole.

The pair of US9.5s I am working on for member local to me has come out really nice. I removed the upper to about 3/4 the way around, removed the toe box and glued it back together. The shoe looks good.

I also discovered that my US8s have an alignment issue as well where I have not got the shoe 100% straight when I glued it in. As a result, the toe pulls causing a crease.

I've got a pair of 8.5' that I removed all but the top two layers, and the size 13's pictured that were just the top layer. With a new toe cap added in the are bit quite sturdy. I will be doing future pairs with the top two layers in place, but I think getting rid of the plastic that made the original cap layer helps a lot.

they are in state and only two hours away but there is no way to get them today. i "should' get them tomorrow but too bad the post office isn't as efficient as the weather service... ;)

Hi cacvx, do you sell the clear soles for a US13? If so, how much?

BTW, I really appreciate all of your videos, images, info, etc of your craft!

To me, your shoes are basically the ideal at this point. Clean, wearable, good profile, all light up. Brad's toe mod is probably the best looking and most practical at this point. Cavx's sock toe mods are very good as well.

I think the key with these shoes is to make them more accurate, while making it a priority to maintain the clean lines and ensure everything looks very tidy. Just like you have here.

Why blue EL, though? I thought that they were a blue/green in the movie.

I just followed the shopping list for the mod, Aqua EL sheets. And Thank you! I could not have done it with Cavx and Jedifyfe's help

Some thing to consider too is that camera setting and your PC monitors can tint a colour away from the colour an object actually is.

The green/blue colour we want for the EL is called CYAN and it sits between GREEN and BLUE on the CIE chart (first published in 1931) and I have added large RED arrows to show what I am talkng about. Now the colour is not seen as true unless both your camera and your monitor have had a proper white balance. That means both components must capture and display EQUAL mounts of RED, GREEN and BLUE.

Note the collection of white at D65. For video (all electronic displays including phones) this is colour (colour temperature) of grey we want.
MOST computer monitors and portable devices however would run in excess of 9300K which means the colour of BLUE is much higher than RED or GREEN. Why do manufactures do this? Because it appears to make white brighter and we are like moths to a flame when it comes bright images even if it is wrong.
So this affects every other colour we see and why CYAN in some photos looks more BLUE than BLUE/GREEN. This also explains why some people think the grey on the mid-sole is BLUE/GREY when in fact it is just GREY with AQUA splatters (on a calibrated monitor).

When I measured my own EL sheets with my colorimeter, BLUE was was about 50% higher than GREEN, so these sheets were biased toward blue to start with. Combine that with a higher than correct colour temp on your display and you will see the light as BLUE.

Hope that make sense.

Bad news and WORST news.

Bad: although it did lighten the soles significantly with just one coat it some decided to lighten the painted sole too. So now I have no choice but to repainted my soles.

WORST: I was ripped off. Seller sent me the sport version, singled boxed and wrong size, even after sending me pics of the Nike version. I have filed a claim. I don't think I'll be using aliexpress again.

This would have to be the best set of HCs I have seen. It looks good with the white on the soles.

Are you kidding? That is terrible news.

Anyway, just wanted to share this

First pull from the new US9.5 molds.

And a quick test fit on a pair of US9.5s.

Happiness Guest House. Ming Wu responded to my messages.

Thar was beforehand put the plastic wrap on them and took them outside. I'm pretty sure the wrap is what caused the mid soles(?) to change because I was miticulous about not getting it on anything but the clear. i was only able to leave it on for about 2 hrs because I had to leave but they cleared more than I thought. So if it's nice tomorrow I'll do it until it stops clearing up.

I requested a full refund including the extra I payed for ems PLUS return shipping. They already accepted but I'm doubtful I'll see the return shipping. I only have 9 days to return them though. So I don't know htf that's going to work.

As a big FU I almost want to stick a random pair of shoes in there and send them back. See how they like it.
